MRS. CECIL BREEN
From 'Fanning the Embers', published 1971, Range Rider Reps, Miles City, Montana
I was born in Sioux City, Iowa, in 1889 and come to Montana with my parents, Charlie and Olive Clark, when I was two years old. We lived at Chalk Buttes until my mother died; I was nine years old. My father put us, my three sisters and 1, in a Sister's school in Sturgis, S.D., as he thought it was best for four girls. I graduated there in 1908. I was married to Thomas Breen in 1911 at Miles City, Mont. After my husband died in 1943, 1 left and went to Great Falls, Mont., where I stayed 21/2 years before coming back to Miles City to stay. I have worked hard but that is fine, something that doesn't hurt anyone. I had ten children: Nellie, Mrs. Freeland, who lives in Riverside, Calif.; Arleen, Mrs. Miller who, lives in Sheridan, Wyo.; Wilham who lives at Jackson, Wyo.; Bob passed away; Jerry is unmarried and lives at Wise River; Bernard who lives in Lysite, Wyo.; Sally, Mrs. Couture, who lives in Billings; Charlie who lives at Terry and Frances who is deceased.
