From 'Echoing Footsteps', published 1967, Powder River County Extension Homemakers Council
By Mrs. Eugene Wood
The Misses Ford came to Miles City to visit their sister. During their stay, they became acquainted with Mr. Brockway of Stacey. School teachers were in demand, so Anna came to teach the South Stacey School. Winifred cooked for Mr. Brockway. Both ladies filed on homesteads. Henry Grady built each a homestead shack. Strello and Brockway Cattle Company ran cattle on range north of Stacey. After dissolving partnership, ,Mr. and Mrs. Brockway moved on Anna's homestead and operated a dairy before moving to Sheridan, Wyoming. Winifred's homestead was sold to Nels Pearson later, and Anna's was sold to John Gold.
