Doc Evans had gone to college to study medicine, but had not received his degree when he came to Montana.
He homesteaded some three miles north of Stacey on Starvation (Strello) Creek in the early 1900's, perhaps in '09 or '10. He left in about 1913 to go back to Kentucky to complete his internship as a surgeon.
He sold his homestead to Tom Pendergast.
