Christopher Nelson, originally from Canada, came to Montana from Michigan. He first came to this country to work for Charlie Daly. Chris got the deed to his homestead on Cameron Creek in 1900.
His health failed later, and although he went back to good doctors, he died in 1908 of a kidney ailment, leaving his land to his brother Robert.
Robert Nelson had filed on a homestead near his brother Christopher, but since he was still a Canadian citizen, he therefore could not obtain a deed for it. He sold his holdings in 1910 to Riley Tyler.
