Child seat safety check up?
Posted by CK (+855) 13 years ago
I heard on the radio yesterday that today in the parking lot of Ace hardware there was going to be a free child seat safety check up. I didn't catch the time. Anyone know?

I'd like to go and make sure my kid's seats are safe.

Thanks,

Carli

I don't know about that, but you can go to the fire department any time to get your child seats checked.

Thanks Mandi. I didn't know that. Maybe it was for a different town, maybe the paint fumes from the room I was painting at the time were getting to me...Not sure. Thanks

Someone told me the fire dept. didn't do that anymore and that the sheriff's office was taking it over. If that is correct than you want the courthouse annex.

You have the ability to check the seats yourselves. Here is one site that you can use as a resource:

http://www.baltimorecount...seats.html

There are hundreds of others. Follow the guidelines and installation instructions. Here is another site to check the individual seat manufacturer from the NHTSA:

http://www.nhtsa.gov/port...ype=infant

Don't depend on someone else to ensure your child's safety. Become an expert yourself.

Woah woah woah! Hey now you guys, you know I work @ 92.3 and would be GLAD to clear stuff up (Also I was the one who put her on). CK, She said it was only till 2 YESTERDAY. lol, not today. They did it all week long! Also, Yeah. It is the MCPD that take care of it now. They were doing checks with your children in the existing seats, and if your seat didn't meet expectations, they were willing to get you a new one that would.

There ya go, sorry that you didn't get to go.

Thanks everyone, sad to have missed it. We have follwed all of the directions and compared the little picture instruction books you get with them, but it is always nice to have another eye take a peek. Josh, I should have just called the station. Next time, I will know.

Thanks everyone.
