I know, I know. I sound like a fanboy here, but yeah. They were just in Miles City, for a short stop at McDonalds.

Way awesome, Josh. I do like Green Day, as newer bands, they are as good as they get.

That is as cool as that Miles Citian who got to talk to Ted Nugent at a truck stop in town lo these many years ago. My memory is foggy on the details....maybe Dave S. remembers more?

The Ted Nugent story sounds vaquely familiar. Emphasis on vaguely.

According to Green Day's website (http://www.greenday.com/site/tour.php) they played Edmonton, AB, last night and are playing Saskatoon, SK, tonight at 8pm (http://www.creditunioncen...1-41ca8b40).

Makes me wonder who was on the bus that was in Miles City today.

Unsure, but they had been at walmart, and then to McDonalds. Maybe they made a detour?

My old man asked the bus driver if they were in the bus & he said they were still in canada. Maybe he wasn't the driver. maybe he stole the bus. heehee

I liked them better before they got so political but they're still a good band. It makes sense that they weren't on the bus, I can't really picture rock stars eating at McDonalds.

How do you know for sure it was actually Green Day? I'm sure there are LOTS of buses that look like that.

Seriously though, very cool.

The shortest distance route from Edmonton to Saskatoon does not include a stop in Miles City?

Makes me wonder who was on the bus that was in Miles City today.

Come to think of it, maybe I should have said, "Makes me wonder who's on stage in Saskatoon tonight." It's Saskatoon, afterall, and would they know if there were imposters lip-syncing on stage? The Saskatoonians might just be thrilled that anyone actually showed up.

They are on their way to Fargo - they have a concert here on Friday July 10!

Exactly! This is why the bus driver was sent into Walmart, and then McDonalds. Do you really think Green Day would want to set one foot in our town? They would get mauled by the fan girls and the fan boys who love them, and could never even hope to get to a concert!

Off topic, but the Ted Nugent story, as I sit here and think, happened many years ago...I believe the early 1980s. Some Miles Citian was getting gas at the old Huskey truck stop on the Baker highway. An SUV pulled up....and out hopped Ted, driving alone, to fill his tank.

Ted was out bow hunting for antelope....whoever talked to him (that is a detail I can't remember) said that Ted let him sit inside his SUV (Bronco? Blazer? another detail I don't remember) and check out his stereo system. Apparently it went to 11.

Back on topic....given the restaurant scene in Miles City, it makes sense that Green Day would dine on Mickey Dee's. At least you know what to expect.

Chances are that this bus carried an advance crew on their way to Fargo. Lots of bands have multiple sets of equipment, jumping ahead to get started setting up for an upcoming show. The Rolling Stones were touring with 3 complete stages when they stopped in Missoula a few years ago. A crew was in Missoula setting up for that show nearly a week before the event, while other crews were further down the road ahead of the band. Pretty common practice these days. It's nearly impossible to set up a large stage show in 1 day, perform, tear it down, travel, and do another show the next day. But I too enjoy seeing these tour buses on the road. I get excited just thinking about big loud rock n roll shows. And I suspect Green Day puts on a great show.

here is the real deal on the Ted sory, it was the interstate Standard, I worked there with my brther Daryll and Wayne Sandmier. Ted rolled in in his big black Ford Bronco with a friend and his two dogs, he was bow hunting in Grass range. He hungout for about an hour to let his dogs run around and pose for many pictures and sign some autographs for us, I also called my friend Brent Certin and he came out and got to meet Ted. It was Awesome! and Ted was way cool and very friendly to all of us. The Bronco did have a pretty sweet sound system for the day.
