My favorite middle child is headed your way

I'm excited for son John. He'll be joining your community in May for the summer. He's big hearted, honest, sort of smart, and a good catholic. Do you have a catholic church? He's 23+, single, civil engineer student at the University of Kentucky (Any Wildcat fans out there?), and will be working for BLM. Anyway, I've been monitoring various forum postings and I'm impressed with your representation of the community. Thanks for sharing. If you meet John, please welcome him and consider him a friend. He is! I'm anxious to hear of his Miles City experiences. Please let me know if you meet him...his mother and I would be delighted to get your impressions of him.

A Proud Father

It sounds as if your son will be a wonderful addition to the town. The Catholic Church is the Sacred Heart Parish. Its a great church...Rev.Oswald baptised my daughter last time I was home and I thought he was wonderful. I think the church has a website. The best of luck to your son.

Tell him to check out Friday night music at the Elks and to stay away from women in Casino Jackets.

My learned advice is to stay away from casinos in a woman's jacket.

Don't ask.

Hal, yes. and I forgot to mention the toothless part. Stay away from toothless women in Casino Jackets. Good advice when a young man leaves home.

Oddly enough, all those toothless, casino-jacketed women seem to be named, "Lil."

If he meets a gal who uses smokeless tobacco, tell him to run in the other direction. Quickly.

You guys are making Miles City sound bad....how about some positive things so this poor parents doesn't worry too much?

Working with the BLM he will have lots of access to recreational areas. I wish I were sitting out along the Yellowstone right now.

If your son wants to meet some gals around his age, tell him to go to Parker's. That's where the under 30 crowd goes in MC.

If you want your son to really fit in, make sure he goes to breakfast at the 600, wearing bungee cords as suspenders.

You should also warn your son that around here people don't wear their outfits, they drive them.

On the left hand side of the home page of this site, under Top 10 sites, number 5 is Sacred Heart Parish School. At the bottom of their home page is a link to the parish site.

Although I am not Catholic, I can tell you the church has new pews and will have air-conditioning this year! I'm hoping for a nice long wedding or funeral this summer so I can enjoy it! I have also met the new priests and they are both a hoot! Very pleasant guys.

That and the remaining life expectancy of the average patron.

30 years is far too generous - although some of those people have managed to pickle themselves into a sort of drunken, suspended animation
