Went for a drive early this morning along the dike and then out along Kircher Road.

Heard a meadowlark for the first time in going on 4 years - dang I have missed hearing them. As a bonus, I heard a couple red wing black birds too.

Miles looks pretty good. Even with the ruble zone on Main, the town is busting and looking fairly dynamic and prosperous.

The coffee and cranberry-orange scones at the Kafe Utza more than live up to their reputation.

I wonder if meadowlarks use punctuation when they sing "polly put the kettle on"

I already had a fight about this with someone, and I am not about to do it again. If it is such a big deal skip over the post, and pay no attention to it. I apologize for only being 14 and only learning how to type "officially"(using correct fingering)earlier this year. I am mostly just wanting to get the right fingering down, at this point Im lucky if I can put any punctuation in. I am still working on it.

Michelle: I was really talking to you and don't expect you at 14 to understand my strange sense of humor. Chill out. It's ok.

haha Its ok. I don't understand half the people on here half the time. lol What I was saying was directed to Wendy anyways. As you know I have had a hard day of punctuation and spelling, and I got annoyed because up till she said that I was already laughing about it. I am fine now. haha

I celebrated hearing a meadowlark last weekend on a drive out Tongue River. Nothing like it. Spring(dare I hope?)

Hal, I had a nice cup of coffee with a good friend today. I wish I could set and talk with my friend more often but we both had places to go and people to visit. When I finish with Plainsman I will give you a shout out and tell you what I think. How about that Stewart family and cafe Utza- are they cool or what?

"Spring(dare I hope?)"

Nope. There is one more snow storm and THEN it will be spring. It's been that way for 44 of the last 47 years.

Michelle, I think that when you take time to think about your writing you do a great job. My post was meant as a joke for the oldsters on this forum, not really as an insult to you. I have a teenager myself and I'm well acquainted with "teenspeak". You should be aware that you have entered a very adult world here and we tend to treat each other as such. Most of us have pretty thick skins.

Michelle, your posts are already more legible than many of the people who post here who claim to be in possession of a high school diploma - but it's not really a place for people with thin skins. Joey hasn't been around in a while, but he seemed to be able to give as good as he got, and you've shown some ability to do that as well.

Unless... you're not really joey pretending to be Michelle just to punk us are you? That would be awesome.

Brady, it was just darned good to sit and shoot the breeze with you. Meeting the Stewarts, the Mayor, and Steve Craddock that was a treat too. Later on I was able to chat with Amorette for a while too.

Listening to meadowlarks in the morning, meeting with old and new friends in the afternoon, and finger steaks for supper at the Airport Inn . . . it likely can't get much better than that.

Other than that scorching 75 degree temperature - it was a fine, fine day.

The berry scones this morning at the Utza are most excellent.

Nope I am not joey sorry.
But I would like to know who he is, because ever since this whole punctuation thing started people have been talking about him. I am very confused haha

haha Ok you caught me, but in my defense I was in Chorus where we are a watching the movie/musical Hairspray which I have seen so many times already I could probably repeat it. haha Not only that but I have a really cool Choir teacher that lets us use our cells in class, she knows that cells in Choir wouldnt be that big of a deal.

Saw some wild turkeys last evening and a couple cock pheasant this morning. Toured the cemetery this morning . . . touched base with with the family roots that seem to be a big part of the reason I still think of Miles as home.

I see there is snow in the forecast . . . I'd like to thank whoever arranged that to make me feel like I was back in Alaska ; -)

When I would hear a Meadowlark for the first time in late winter/early spring I knew that spring and nice weather was on the way. I did not realise til here recently that I had missed their call. We recently moved to the country and I heard one for the first time in a long time a few weeks ago.

When I was losing my hearing, one of my saddest thoughts was that I would never again hear a meadow lark. Fortunately, technology allowed me a BAHA implant and every time I hear a meadow lark I remember how close I came to never hearing it again.

Saw quite a few antelope today on my way to Circle - pretty cool too . . . don't have them up North.

Oh yeah . . . I got to meet Tucker and Glenna the other day - that was great.

Meadow larks, Christmas music, and a laughing baby--all make me cry now when I think that I might never have heard them again. University of WA Medical Center took a chance on me and did the procedure after 2 surgeries gone bad. I owe them a lot.

It's still there Brady. I'll make a point of stopping by for a cone while I'm here. I'll likely need the break - sounds like I got here just in time to get put to work doing spring yard-chores.
