I'm out of the "loop". Can someone tell me why almost all the police shave their heads now? Does this have a special meaning? (just curious)

Probably because, once your hairline starts receding, if you shave it all off -- then no one will know you're bald.

I think that the police have kinda transitioned from watching out for the people to watching the people. It also seems that police in general are sort of becoming more militaristic in some aspects, and maybe this is one of them. Also, in a fight it helps to not have hair.
