On one of our local tv stations (Kong Channel 6 I think) had as trivia a question about the largest snowflake ever recorded.
It is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records, that the world's largest snowflake was 38 cm wide and 20 cm thick. This occurred at Fort Keogh, Montana, USA on 28 January 1887.

All we have is the word of the rancher who found it but still that thing is huge.
