James O. Booen was in Miles City from 1921 until his death in 1934 at age 70, although he took pictures of southeastern Montana before residing in Miles City. Booen operated a Traveling Studio over a four state area. He visited Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas in summer months with his panoramic camera.
Booen's Miles City studio was located from some years at 611-1/2 Main Street. His panoramic prints often measured about 6 x 36 inches, a distinctive size. Polk Directories at the Miles City library should provide additional information. (The best way to contact me is gcoffrin at gmail dot com, after putting the email address in proper form.)
