What would you like on your tombstone?

Has anyone given any thought to what they would like to have engraved on their tombstone (or urn of ashes)?

I'd like a 1940's-style pinup girl; stockings, garters, flashing a little leg. I'd appreciate it if she'd be put there for me before I die. Because, like sex on television, sex on a tombstone isn't a bad thing.

Unless you fall off.

As for the engraving:

"There are no atheists in foxholes"
isn't an argument for religion.
It's an argument against foxholes.
Good bye.

Major - I like your epitaph.

Here's mine (and it should come as no surprise to Levi ):

And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.

Spiral out - Keep going ...

Along with Lateralus by Tool (from which the lyrics above have been lifted), I've also requested that Hells Bells by AC/DC be played at my funeral service.

I knew it was just a matter of time before someone (and yes, I was thinking of you, Richard) would go there.

So, what would be on your headstone, Richard?

Not having a grave...thus no headstone.

That's why I mentioned "urn of ashes" in the original post.

How about in your service program?

After all, "You can't know who's dead without your program!"

No urn either...I once was friends with this guy who had his mother's ashes behind the seat in his car the entire time we were travelling. I know another lady who took her sons ashes and spread them around the airplanes she flew on...because he had wanted to travel and his illness prevented him from doing so.

Too many stories like that. No urn...thus no need to write anything. My family has been informed no service. No engravings. Take the money and spend it on a trip and enjoy their lives. Think of me and smile. No more.

Hubby thought this one was pretty good:

Two things I love most,
good horses and beautiful
women, and when I die, I hope
they tan this old hide of mine
and make it into a ladies riding
saddle, so I can rest in peace
between the two things I love
most.

I'd LIKE mine to say, "I have fought the good fight, I have kept the faith." However, the verdict is still out on whether it'll be true. We'll see, I guess.
