Wow. I don't know if that "accomplishment" is something to be proud of or embarrassed by...

There are people in MC.com land that can vouch for the fact that in person I am actually one of the quite shy types. I want to thank the webmaster for providing this forum. Proverbs says that "as iron sharpen iron so one man sharpen another". I know I have grown a lot by "rubbing" my ideas up against the ideas of others in this forum. Hopefully others see it that way as well. (3346)

Any bets that next year, Eric Brandt will lose the 20th position?

It means that there were at least 1008 references to Sarah Palin.

Cheers!

Congratulations Richard ; -)

Rick, you need to get in gear and quit goofing off ; -)

I'm impressed that Steve Craddock racked up so many posts in such a short time - I expect to see him move to the top this year.

Considering I often spend weeks or even months at a time posting very little (or not at all), I'm kind of surprised that I am as high on the list as I am. Um ... yay me?

Yes, but I win for the most pro-ice skating posts.

So Mr. Webmaster,
Are you at all surprised at how popular this has become?

I answered this before, and the short answer is yes I'm surprised, however I did have a plan and it worked out. The popularity though is due to all of you. I would bet this is the highest trafficked web site for a community the size of Miles City in the entire country. Regards, Larry

Hey there, Larry...

I don't know why I'm curious about this, but I am: if you go on-down the list, where do I fall?...or are you able to determine that far down?

If I were to guess, I'd say I'm probably in the 60's or 70's....could be lower, though, as I've only been blogging here since 2006, I think.

One other question, I think one of the regulars here pointed-out that "deer slayer" and "mule train" are the same person...would you have some way of combining the post from the 2 screen names and seeing what they add up to?

If you can't answer these questions, no big deal...just curious.

Shu: All 3,100+ users are ranked. You're #46 "all time" with 274 posts.

In regards to combining different usernames, I don't really have any practical way of doing that other than:

deer_slayer (479) + mule train (338) = 817

So I did some math:

3345 post * .25hrs/post = 836.25 hrs

836.25 hrs * $70.00 (my usual professional billing rate) = $58,537.50.

Not sure if it is economically viable for me to continue.

Richard, you gotta spread that over 8+ years though ... you're not even making minimum wage!

I think I would have placed higher but most of my posts did not have a high enough "degree of difficulty" and that hurt me in the scoring. Also, the East German and Bulgarian judges constantly gave me low scores.

This post proves that I am old enough to have grown up watching ABC's Wide World of Sports.

Thanks, Larry...higher than I thought I'd be.

I enjoy this forum quite a bit. Happy continued blogging to one and all!

Now if we could only get a word count.

I'd be interested in that too, Rick. (especially for some of our more verbose exchanges )

Here's the Roll of Champions:

2000 - 4-way tie
2001 - Amorette Allison
2002 - Amorette Allison
2003 - Tucker Bolton
2004 - Rick Kuchynka
2005 - Richard Bonine, Jr.
2006 - Richard Bonine, Jr.
2007 - Hal Neumann
2008 - Hal Neumann
2009 - ???

I have a new goal ... to put the shame of 2008 behind. (I don't think I - or anyone - can catch Richard, though)

Any information on the total number of threads started? I know I'm nowhere near the top of THAT list.

I did have that info, but it was wasting table space so I deleted the column/s. So no, unfortunately I don't have it. It would need to be regenerated, but that's too much work to do again.

No worries ... what are you still doing up, anyway?

You may have already mentioned this somewhere else, but do you have similar websites for other communities?

> No worries ... what are you still doing up, anyway?

I'm not exactly on a fixed schedule, and basically don't have anything to do right now, so that's about it. Sometimes I stay up late. Sometimes I don't.

> You may have already mentioned this somewhere else, but do you have similar websites for other communities?

I wrote new ASP.NET 2.0 software using C#, but never released it to any other communities. The web site for the software itself is here:

http://www.geovilla.com/

But there's nothing there except a logo. I'm still trying to figure out if I want to put the effort into it or not.
