95 Down, 5 To Go

Well the Mariners can be the first at SOMETHING this season by becoming, in 5 games, the first team to lose 100 games with a $100 million-dollar payroll. With their 0-12 loss today it looks as though that can be easily attained.

If the Mariners don't come in last place, then they will have been a complete failure. I'm rooting for 100. Go Mariners!

Steve,

Considering my team, the Yankees, aren't doing that well you may be right. However the Mariners have made themselves an easy target for ridicule this season.

I think it goes something along the lines of a fish and a barrel.

They've only got ten more games to go this season and considering that they're playing .375 ball that would mean they'd win 4 of the remaining games whilst losing 6.

It looks like 101's the magic number.

Kyle - I know you find this hard to believe, but I'm trying to save your hide here, Man!

Larry - I beseech thee on my brethren's behalf - show your Mighty Mariner Web-Awesomeness by being merciful upon the lowly Yankee fan. He obviously knows not what he does.

Believe me I'm a pariah in my own home. Nobody I know of likes the Yankees although my sister likes Pettite, A-Rod & Jeter.

I consider it an honor to carry the torch of the Yankees-fandom in my family. I am carrying on the legacy of my grandfather and fly the flag of New York Yankee pride proudly.

Wow. If you weren't a damn Yankee, I'd call you a Rebel! hehe

(Will that joke register with anyone this far north and west of the Mason-Dixon line?)

Yeah but you know traffic on those game days have been nothing!! I have quite enjoyed not having to spend an extra 40 minutes in downtown seattle after getting off work just to try and get out of town.

For those who have been to Safeco you might know where the following is:

Home Plate Parking Lot
Cost of parking for Oakland Athletic game on August 22nd:
$10

Cost for New York Yankees game on September 6th:
$25

Stadium ratio of Yankee-Mariner fans:
3/1

Chants of "Let's go Yankees!":
Too numerous to count.

Chants of "Let's go Marniers!":
Crickets chirping.

Now who do people want to see more?

Only four more to go Mariner fans and the you can proudly say that the M's have achieved something no other team has ever done before. With Carlos "4-15" Silva on the mound I think it's safe to say that they're only 3 away.

Webmaster, have you picked out your beer yet?

Wow, what a time to be a Major League Baseball fan! This week we have a chance to witness history multiple times over. First on the block was the great send off to Yankee Stadium with a win in the final game and now the Mariners are only two games away from making some history for themselves - albeit in the opposite direction.

2 down M's fans and we can all celebrate.

Hell if Philly can celebrate this:

Then Mariners fans can certainly celebrate 100 of them.
