I count at least 10 threads on this board with over 200 replies since she was tapped for VP. What a story. Why no thread nor mention of the John Edwards episode?

Is John Edwards running for a national political office? I missed that.

Is John Edwards the father of Sarah's child?

Oh wow! I had no idea!

You just did, Ike. I'm sure there's some mention on here somewhere.

Ike, I think you need to sign up for one of Rick's Logical Fallacies 101 classes before you try that false equivilance argument.

Go for something a little less advanced - a strawman perhaps, or maybe begging the question.

Or maybe the ad hominem argument.

That's always a favorite of the wingers around these here parts.

As expected, the answer is dependent on Who's ox is being gored.

Rather than answer the question, sweep it under the rug or dazzle 'em with BS.

Where have you been the last 8 years David? Yes, that's the John Edwards I was referencing.

Empty pants suit indeed!! After last nite there is a new kid on the Block!!

Well in that case I'm not voting for John Edwards for president. Oddly, I don't think I am going to find him on my ballot anyhow. Ike?

Ike, Bridgier's right. No equivalencies can be drawn here.

Silky was a Presidential candidate, not VP.

The rumors of his affair swirled well before, during, and after his candidacy, instead of just right after the race was entered.

The NY Times and WP had to admit they hadn't even bothered to investigate, let alone print the allegations against Edwards because they just couldn't find enough resources to commit. But then when Palin's daughter turned up pregnant, staffing must have gotten better. Somehow the Times managed 3 front page stories in one day.

All told, though, I have to agree with Bridgier. Equivalency would be a tough case to make.

The Politico's Roger Simon says that examining the record of the Alaska governor, of whom not much is known about, is a legitimate line of inquiry for the press.

I guess this "Examining Of The Record" includes inquires into her daughter's, as well as her own privacy in giving birth.

What the hell, Kyle. She's planning on getting involved in every other woman's private life.

Hate to break it to you Bob, but a large majority of women are not going to have (or would ever consider having) an abortion.

Hate to break it to you, Rickenhawk, but women still have the right to choose (no thanks to Gov. Failin).

John Edwards is a black hole of phoniness. It took the digging of the National Enquirer to reveal the real "other America" of Mr. Edwards.

The last time I paid any attention to him was when CNN's U-boat captain was interviewing him on the television, symbolically at least fulfilling the role of Monica Lewinsky, as I was shouting questions he should of asked.

Someone went through the trouble of interviewing some of the common folks who are acquainted with Mr. Edwards, and are of the soci-economic class of Mr. Edwards perceived "other America" whom he so liberally patronized in pursuit of their votes. They all said he is in person one of the most conceited snobs they had ever known.

That he garnered any votes is a testament to the credbility his wife brought to the campaign, but it was his own transparent phoniness that did him in.
