Thought it would be interesting to take an informal "roll call" and see who is attending the reunion. Unless the creeks rise my wife and I will be attending.

So how about it... are you coming?

I am not...I will be in Richmond VA next week, presenting a paper at the annual meeting of the American Society of Mining and Reclamation.

Gunnar: You lucky dog. I had debated for quite a while whether to go to ASMR or the reunion. I decided on the reunion. I have never been to any of the class reunions and decided that it might be amusing. Next year I will go to ASMR. If you get the opportunity, please tell Dr. Barnhiesal hello for me. Good luck with your presentation. What is your presentation topic?

My presentation is sort of a "Lessons Learned"...giving a talk on estimating reclamation costs for large earthmoving projects, using Anaconda Smelter and Zortman-Landusky as examples....comparing the estimated costs to the actual costs, and explaining the differences.

If you look at page 9 of the program, it looks like they stuck all the Montana talks into the same Wednesday morning session.

Gunnar - Richard,

If you are interesting in mining & mineral processing history, here's one for you. It might not be the best history around, but it's a sure cure for insomnia ;-)

Thanks Hal. Sorry to hear you won't make it as I was looking forward to meeting you and perhaps enjoying an adult beverage.

I'm coming, provided Bobbie got my money. She might just kick me out at the door.

Really looking forward to seeing everyone...my older brother Tim (class if 72) will be getting on the airplane tomorrow to fly up here.

Should be good fun!

Richard,

It would have been great to see old friends and meet the new ones I've made here . . . but this just isn't a good time of the year for us to get away. We wouldn't have been able to head out until Friday afternoon and we would have had to have been back Monday morning. It's 2200 miles or so as the crow flies from here to Miles (and the air route likely doesn't follow the crows), so it just didn't make sense to even try it.

I'll be there and hopefully a few of my siblings - Jill for sure; Bob, maybe. Jane - no...lives in Houston and girls are busy this time of year.

Bob Magnuson is the hardest working man in Custer County. It is unlikely he could find time to attend a class reunion, giving his incredible work schedule. Still, we can all hope for the best.

Tracy: I have your money and I won't be kicking you out the door.
Am excited to see you. Duke Dunning is already here and I saw him today. He is excited to see you and Bill Corbin.

This is going to be a blast. Have been decorating for two evenings now and will be there again tomorrow night. Hope you all like the decorations.

Bobbi,
Thank you for all of your hard work! If your taste in decorating is as wonderful as your taste in cars I'm sure it will be awe inspiring.

I agree with Kacey, Bobbi. Thanks very much for all you are doing with the reunion, I know you enjoy it, but it's still an enormous amount of work to contact everyone (sometimes several times), collect funds, newsletters, reserve locations, get caterers, on and on ..... You've done an amazing job!

Thanks you guys, but the proof will be in the pudding if everything goes smoothly and everyone enjoys themselves. It has been challenging to say the least, but I have to admit, it has been fun. Have gotten to know quite a few wonderful people on the committee and have made what I hope are life long friendships. Can't wait to see everyone. Class of 74, when you come in the main doors, we're in the corner to your left. I'll be the one with a drink in hand!!!!
