I've somehow gotten myself into the promoting business for rock, folk, and blues musicians. I make a point to catch all the shows I can fit in and afford while out of town on my excursions and I often end up having a beverage with the performers after the shows. This usually leads to conversations about doing a show in Miles City. This summer several of them have phoned or emailed about doing gigs in Miles City. I've got Aaron Espe scheduled for July 3rd http://www.milescity.com/...&tid=5242 and I hope you can all make it. He has a wonderful presence and collection of songs to share.
I'm looking for individuals and businesses that would like to get more involved and help fund and promote some of the shows. I'm thinking for every $100 supporter I'll provide at least ten admission tickets, space on tickets and posters, and (if radio or newsprint is involved) include sponsors in the print/radio ads. It's a very fair deal. I've got a dedicated group of businesses that help with ticket sales and display posters for me, but more would be better. I'm also open to individuals that would like to pitch in or help with the promotions and legwork; it all helps and it will all make live music possible for those of us that enjoy it.
Here's the deal- I'm rally not trying to make a living doing this, I just want to bring some quality music to Miles City. I like a diverse mix of stuff and expect to have various performers in Folk, Blues, Rock, Jazz, some Country, (maybe some Funk or Pop?). I'm looking at shows on the third floor of the Elks, the CCDHS auditorium, the Montana Room, perhaps outdoors someplace in the summer.
Anyone that's into live music that wants to see some live stuff in our fair town please contact me and let's talk about it.
