I will be in the Forsyth area April 25-27. Will be outdoors hunting. Have no idea about weather in the west. Especially weather in your area in April. If you could advise. Or is there a website that gives average temps, conditions for a given time period.

Well, I would either bring lots of water so you do not get dried out in the heat, or be prepared for a 12 inch, very wet snow.

If you click the Weather tab you can find a link to a climate chart for Miles City on the lower right hand corner of the page. Forsyth is fairly close so I assume it would be similar.

http://www.milescity.com/weather/climatology/

Looks like the temperature could range from from about 100° to 10°. Normal daytime highs being about 65°, normal nighttime lows about 40°.

Of course, normal seldom happens, and there is a saying in Montana... if you don't like the weather, just wait 15 minutes and it will change.

100 degrees to 10 degrees. That truly says it. In all honesty, early spring is very unpredictable -- it can be a cruel time of the year for anything living outside. Your best bet is to not assume that spring is going to be warm, pleasant days with cool nights -- not to say that doesn't happen, it's just rather unlikely. We've had some pretty heafty snows in late April and into early May. Spring likes to go outta' here like a lion at times. Why back when I still had teeth and hair I remember a spr.......

I found this comment in the book, "The Truth About Montana Winters -- A Collection of 'Winter Tales' published in The Miles City Star":

"Spring is undependable and often disappointing. Almost anything can happen and probably will weatherwise in April and May. Consequently we don't talk about Spring much."

I think that pretty well sums it up. : )
