There are a number if churches with some real nice folk attending. Probably can get to know them without too much trouble. Most of the time they just walk right up to you and say hi. Living Way Fellowship has a good band. Couldn't hurt.

You could join a church, a social or civic organization, volunteer with any number of groups like the art center, drop by Joe's bookstore during the salons or go down to Veteran's park for music night. Chat with folks at the library or the grocery store. Take classes at the Art Center or MCC. Do you have a job? Where do your friends spend their time? Bars, contrary to some opinions, are not the only option by a long shot.

No bars are not the only place by far for a 29 year old woman to find friends in Miles City, but there is nothing wrong with sitting at a local watering hole to meet new people. Most of us are really quite normal and only slightly neurotic. So come on down to the Montana Bar tonight and you will be sure to meet some real nice women. You should try it Ammorette, you just might have some fun.

Geez Cherry, you seem a little confrontational this evening.

Sorry, I'm 46, married for 26 years and have asthma. I love the Montana but my lungs can't take concentrated cigarette smoke. I'm not a non-drinker. My husband makes the finest martini in Miles City. I just thought the the person was asking for somewhere BESIDES a bar to go. If there were a non-smoking bar like the Montana, I'd have a stool with my name on it in a heartbeat!

sounds like a good idea Ammorette, do you think that would fly in Miles City? Even though I smoke, I know many who do not and would like the same kind of watering hole. By the way, as a gardening expert, is it to late to plant flowers to liven up a yard?

The jam session at Veterans Park on Main every friday night is a great place to meet people and sample the local folk. Just plop down on a piece of grass beside someone and introduce yourself! I did that a couple weeks ago and met another lady much like yourself. One thing about it, everyone knows everyone around here, so if you don't like the person you introduce yourself to, they are likely to introduce you to someone you might just take a liking to.

Good Luck!

Hey, I lived in Miles City for three years, and I never met any nice, normal women at the Montana Bar?

Maybe I was just there at the wrong time of the evening...

If someone has blooming flowers on sale, annuals that is, you could but it's way to late for seed. Maybe some asters, which might even come back next year. This has been a great year for some flowers but not so hot for the garden veg.

I guesse you aren't staying up late enough to be at the Montana, because there were a bunch of us nice, normal, ladies there Saturday night. Of course that will only happen once every ten years. (It was our class reunion) ;D

The jam session is a variety of local and talented individuals that comes to veterans park on friday nites from 7-11 or so to share songs and a great evening out. There is no cost. it is for young and old. a little country,a little blues, a little bluegrass, celtic, rock and roll, you name it we have it. come down and listen, or if you have an instrument come down and play or warble a few tunes. whoever wants to gets up and strums a few. folks bring lawn chairs, or just sit in the grass. great evening.

Well i always go to walmart to look for the women its the best place to BUMP into them. If your out going then just go on a sunday when everyone decides they go to walmart to chat and block up the isles with thier buggies forming an unbreakable road block. just ask one of the old people to point you in the direction of the 29 year old conversationists! Hope it helps if nothing else use the pick up line (didn't we go to different schools together) it's lame but it starts a conversation
