Fort Keogh Photographs
Posted by CJC (+9) 14 years ago
Greetings--I recently acquired 2 very old photographs. They are of the 25th US Infantry camped out at Fort Keogh during the winter of 1890, during the Wounded Knee Campaign. Included in the photos are Lieut. Col. JJ Van Horn and Lieut. George P. Ahern.

One of the photos is signed "Wiley" in the photo. I assume this is the photographer. I know that the Wiley Brothers took over Huffman's business around 1900, but would it make sense that they were taking photos of Fort Keogh in 1890? I thought originally these were by Barthlemess, but then made out the Wiley name. Any help would be appreciated. They are great photos.
