Class C -- Montana PBS documentary

Tonight Montana PBS aired a wonderful and at times painful documentary entitled Class C. This program is initially about five small Montana girls' basketball teams. However, it doesn't take long to see the story is much deeper than that - it's about the towns themselves and in some cases the lives of the girls'; their trials and tribulations. Some of the most touching moments are listening to the girls as they talk about their communities. Sports can get ugly, too, and that comes out as well. Rather than say more, I'll just let you know the next time it's on --Class C, Monday, March 3, 7 p.m. on Montana PBS.

It was a great show! I had planned to only watch for a few minutes but with in the first 5 minutes of the show I was hooked and had to sit and watch the whole thing.....it was really sad to hear some of the girls stories. If you have time please sit and watch just a few minutes you will be hooked then. It really is about Montana and what is happening to our small towns.

If you grew up in a Class C Town, much of it strikes pretty close to home. In a small town, so much of your identity is wrapped up in those high school sports. Particularly gut wrenching to me was the piece about Chester and losing their team name and joining up with their rivals. Well Done PBS.

Any ideas how displaced Montanans can view this program?

KDA,

I'll check into this. Curt is right about DVDs, but I have no idea what the plans are. I recently watched an item sometime back that was streamed off the MT PBS web site.

Curt, I spoke with a contact from Montana PBS. Currently "Class C" is a pledge item gift for a pledge amount of $90. After their current pledge drive is over (around mid March), the DVD will be available on their website for $25.

Bart, let me know if you found differently.

Thanks guys!
