Is anyone else having this problem?

So, about a month ago, I get this letter in the mail from a church in the midwest. The letter contained a little paper holy Bible prayer rug and the directions that came with it told me to put the holy Bible prayer rug over my kness and pray for $13,000. Then I had to put the holy Bible prayer rug in a Bible and put the Bible under my bed overnight. The next day, before sundown, I had to put the holy Bible prayer rug in the mail and send it back to them. The letter said my prayer would be answered right away. Well, it's been this long and so far, I haven't gotten my money.

I followed the directions exactly, so what gives? I know it was for real, because the eyes on the picture of Jesus on the holy Bible prayer rug blinked, just like the letter said they would.

It's a known scam. I don't feel like looking it up, so I'll rely upon others here to take care of it...

So what exactly is the "problem"?

Ever gotten the holy handkerchief in the mail? That's another good one!

I'm pretty sure that the Prayer Rug is actually a "Magic Carpet" that obviously has been blown off course by prevailing winds and your money is probably right now flying off course to a mailbox near you and that someone else is enjoying your money and thanking the Lord for it's mysterious arrival. Never underestimate the Power of the Lord but understand that "Acts of God" cannot be covered under his plan.

I always do the things the letters tell me....I figure it can't hurt.

Don't ever accept mail with my name in the return address. It'll hurt.

I would like an explanation from Bob L., since he called himself a prayer rug salesman. Evidently my prayer rug was defective. Is there some kind of prayer rug consumer protection group I can report this to? I feel like I'm out $13,000 on this deal.

Apparently you can't trust midwestern churchgoers to pray for you. Prey ON you, maybe.

Hey, don't look at me!

My prayer mats are only for people to bow to Mecca after the Islamofascists take over the country!

Bob L.,
Please call them religious pirates. I find it far funnier.

I only need one more prayer rug to complete my set of placemats.

I got one in the mail too, Curt, but dang it! I threw it away, so I won't be able to help you complete your lovely table setting. Oh wait! It just flew out of the garbage and sailed past my head. A dollar bill fell off...do you think that's part of your fortune, Poison Spaghetti?

Well if it is, you better send it my way.

My $13,000 still hasn't shown up, but today I got a book from the church. I'm pretty sure the book isn't worth $13,000. Should I return it and point out their mistake - that I ordered $13,000, not a book? I'm really getting tired of waiting.

You know in some circles the number 13 is not a good number (i.e. Friday the 13th), So 13,000 would be all the worse. Sometimes we don't know how blessed we are that we don't get what we pray for...
