Daycare Insurance???
Posted by TK (+1623) 15 years ago
I have a question. I am doing research for someone: does anyone know which insurance companies WILL insure a daycare that is in a home? The home is NOT lived in and this poses a problem with a few insurance companies. The home is strictly a daycare facility.
Thanks for your help!

I have my daycare insurance through State Farm.

Is the daycare in your home, or do you live somewhere else? That's the problem the people I'm researching for are running into. They used to go through State Farm, but according to my "source" (if you will), she said that they wouldn't insure her anymore because the home wasn't lived in--it was daycare only.

Did you actually talk to a insurance rep? I am always hearing how 'someone' told 'someone' 'something' that turns out to be completely wrong. I'd pick up the phone and talk to some insurance providers. That would give you a real answer, rather than some rumor.

There are several companies that will write insurance for this daycare. Call Leigh Allie or Carol at Montana Insurance Managers, Clarke's office 406-234-3353.

USLI and Capital Indemnity write a really competive daycare program, Capital Indemnity does require a fenced yard at the facility and no Dogs. Both companies are AM Best A+ and can be accessed through an independent agent like Montana Insurance Managers.

hope that helps.

I have run a daycare for the last 9 years and I have always gone through Thomco Finance. It is not local but they are very reasonable. My daycare has been in my home, but now I am moving into another house and when I called to change the address they didn't have a problem with it. If you would like more info please call. 234-2326

Hope this helped!

Thank you, John. I let the person know and they are going to look into the one (they're already insured through the one company you mentioned and aren't happy with them) and talk to the girls at Clarke's to see if there are others.

To anyone else:
As far as I'm concerned, I'm done with this topic as I received an answer and it's not my responsibility to actually find the insurance, just get some information.

Thank you for your replies.
