Maybe they're going to turn it into a "Long John Silvers".

The Laurel Ballet is expanding to Miles City. Should be a great new business. Its what made the town great in the past.

I've heard it was purchased at auction by Town Pump. There's talk of moving the casino North and making a larger trucker lounge in the old building. I would also expect McDonald's to be surrounded by asphalt.

What's the deal with the police line around it the other day? Don't get the paper, except the weekly world news before it quit circulating.

It's being torn down and I think the owners don't want anyone getting hurt on a construction site. I think they sold everything off last week. I guess police tape is cheap and easily available.

Is this the fairly new one by the Chinese restaurant?

No, I believe it's the one near McDonald's and the Golden Spur Lounge. Formerly known as the Buckboard Inn and also known as the Days Inn for a brief moment in time. It's a John Ramage special.

Anyone have photos of it in its earlier glory days (or recent too)?

I remember, some years ago, when the Perry family (if I'm not mistaken?) managed the Buckboard.

OK to squash all the rumors and BS posted above.

The Town Pump bought the land.

We auctioned off the contents of the motel.

Police tape is to discourage all the local residents who have been stealing everything they can get their hands on.

{It's sad but true but some local residents raped & pillaged the place after the auction}

It will be torn down. {It is not a loss, it was in terrible repair.}

As far as I know no one is sure of what will be put on that site.

...a "casino" or just a room full of video poker machines?

At least it's getting torn down. The usual Miles City pattern is to let it sit and rot for a very long time. In the meantime, why not put in a Long John Silvers? Miles City would then become the destination site of sea food lovers all across eastern Montana. There must be dozens!

It's my understanding that the property was purchased by Town Pump to expand their operation (if you notice, their truck stop parking extends behind McDonalds and borders on the old motel property). Supposedly they want to build a free-standing Lucky Lils casino that is apart from their gas station store. don't know if this is true or just another MC rumor.
Anyone know what the building is going up by Fasnels?

If it's not a Costco then it must be a new "casino".

I'll be really shocked if it's not a free-standing Lucky Lil's.

What's Fasnel's?

Actually I spelled it wrong - its Fastenal, and its located on North Haynes Ave. by the storage units. I believe it specializes in supplying building contractors. anyway, directly across from it is a new building going up.

Think I heard one of the chiropractors down town is moving their office out there.

Never heard of Fastenal's either. Course I don't need ranch supplies much - reminds me of a time we crank called Horizon Implements. I think we were the only one's that thought it was funny -

"I need an implement."

What kind of implement?

"Oh, fuzzy handcuffs, french-tickler, whatever."

Dr. Wagner is opening his own chiropractic practice next to Fastenal.

I have it on good authority that the Budget Inn was purchased by Town Pump. They reportedly will not be erecting another casino, but instead the lot will be used for another egress for trucks leaving their facility.
