So what's the terrain looking like in eastern Montana? Here in Helena, the grasses are as tall as I've ever seen. We were worried about fires in July, then August was extremely wet.

Monday I toured some reclamation around the Anaconda Smelter Superfund site and I've never seen it look better. Some of the bunch grasses, particularly Great Basin wildrye* are still green! So I am curious what folks are seeing in the eastern part of the state.

*Recognizing Richard B will mock me for my taxonomy of grasses. sp?

You did fine. Even the blind squirrels find a nut once in a while.

As far as I'm aware, it's not really super dry nor super wet here in the Miles City area. Most of southern and eastern MT aren't under any kind of drought, at least according to the US Drought Monitor.
