Internet Service... Midrivers vs Century Link?

Midrivers is doing away with their cable TV service effective 12/31/2023.

So I'm helping my brother in MC get internet service for a streaming service (e.g. Netflix). It looks like these are the only internet options:

Midrivers current internet offerings:
- $19.95/month + $0.20/GB (or about $50/month for 150GB of data + $0.20/GB)
- Speeds up to 1000 Mbps (megabites/second)

Century Link:
- $50/month unlimited data
- Speeds up to 20 Mbps

Midrivers looks fast, but expensive. At Century Link speeds (20 Mbps), I'm not sure it will work for streaming, or for light internet surfing.

Just curious of anyone has any comments or recommendations between the two services?

Century link does not get those speeds. They tell you this but you're lucky to get maybe 3-5 mbps in most areas of town. Since it's DSL and they refuse to update their lines, you'll be lucky to get even 7. That is enough for streaming but just wanted people to be aware of this. You have to live fairly close to their CO to get the best speeds, which is around the 7/8 mbps mark.

Good luck if you consider Century Link. I tryed two different times, opened an account, set up appts. First time 3 different appts and tech never showed up. 2 months later I tryed again, opened new account . 2 appts set and tech never showed. Had a program problem with my tv, called Midrivers at 9:00 am, showed up before noon. fixed my problem and left. No charge. I've been with them for 15 years and have always been totally satisfied with there service. You get what you pay for.
