Ales, porters, pilsners, lagers and stouts are just a few of the types of beer brewers are making at home. With microbreweries and specialty beers a fad and sweeping the nation, a beer category has been introduced at the Eastern Montana Fair. Gunnar Emilsson of Miles City received a blue ribbon for his entries of pale gold, amber, dark and specialty beers; Jarvis Struck, also of Miles City, received a white ribbon for his dark beer and Cheryl Schuldt of Jordan received a red ribbon for her dark beer.

Heh...I kinda felt bad after sweeping all 5 categories so I quit entering after that. The only reason I entered was because one of the judges, Larry Grant, wanted to drink my beer.

Last beer competition I entered was in 2011, when I won a gold medal in the National Homebrew Competition. I figured I never was going to top that, so I retired from competition.
