January 6th Committee Hearings

Since Fox News refuses to air the January 6th Committee hearings, I have posted the full hearing from youtube.

I have a question for Trump supporters. Do you think it's okay for a sitting President to condone a mob of protesters hanging the Vice President?

I'm happy that this committee was organized in a bi-partisan manner with Representatives that take their oath to protect the Constitution seriously. Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney seem to be among a very small number of Republicans with any type of integrity. Maryland Matt is definitely not among them.

Trump is more and more desperate, he's losing hope, and he'll happily "slash the throat" of anyone who dares to doubt him and his unhinged rants. He has even disclaimed and discarded the testimony of Ivanka, the only woman he's ever loved.

The main takeaway from day 2 of the January 6th Committee Hearings. Trump knew that he lost. Every one of his advisors, including Bill Barr, told him he lost the election. Yet, he continues to deceive millions of Americans. What a pathetic loser. And Rudy Guiliani is a drunk moron.

Probably the most eye-opening part of day 2 was Bill Barr's testimony. Here are a few direct quotes:

Trump "became detached from reality".
"The claims of fraud were complete bull$hit".
Trump is doing "a grave disservice to our country".

He also goes on to absolutely destroy the 2000 Mules "documentary" touted by the delusional stop the steal folks.

It's unbelievable to me that one of Trumps biggest stoolies and stooges, former Attorney General Bill Barr, does not support any election fraud claims, and yet millions of Americans continue to believe the lies and give Trump their money.
This is a very dangerous time for our democracy.

Cover up Bob Barr may be doing what he did the last time with Bush I. His advice to Bush I to pardon those running the Iran-Contra affair stopped the prosecution because it removed any reason to roll over on their superiors in the crimes. Now by shooting off his mouth about how the orange headed cockroach believed his own lie to the point of a detachment from reality he may be handing him a federal criminal defense of lack of criminal intent.

Yes.

Seattle Times: WA donors gave $2.7M to Trump ‘defense fund’ that didn’t exist

. . .

Now, due to the investigation of the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol, we know that Trump’s own inner circle knew there was no evidence of fraud. His attorney general, under oath, called the idea the election was stolen “bullshit.”

What we also know about this Official Election Defense Fund: It officially didn’t exist.

“I don’t believe there is actually a fund called the Election Defense Fund,” a Trump campaign staffer admitted to the House’s Jan. 6 committee, in testimony played on Monday.

“It’s a scam folks,” U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a Republican from Illinois, summed up after the hearing. “And MAGA Inc. is laughing at you.”

. . .

I spoke to one of these donors last year, a 76-year-old retiree in southwest Washington. She gave Trump more than $1,000 in increments starting right after the 2020 election, according to FEC records. She said she was upset about the election, but had only intended to give $50. (She apparently didn’t notice some checked boxes that doubled the contribution and made it recurring.)

When she saw her bank account being depleted, she felt mortified that she had been “had.” She didn’t want me to print her name — too embarrassing, she said. I can understand that, so I didn’t.

When I called back this week, she reported that her daughter had gotten her a refund. (FEC records show a partial refund.) But at the end of our conversation, even with the news that the Election Defense Fund she thought she was giving to had been a ploy, she said it didn’t matter. She was still a Trump fan.

“I don’t blame Trump,” she said. His team or some vendor was “probably disloyal to him. Everybody is disloyal to him. He’s doing the best he can, with everybody fighting against him.”

“I’d vote for him again, you bet,” she said.

. . .

COMPLETE MORONS.

Day 3

Main take away from day 3 of the January 6th Committee Hearings. Trump placed massive pressure on Vice President Pence, both privately and publicly, to illegally violate the Constitution and not certify electoral college votes.

Pence is obviously a right-wing nutter. But at least he is a right-wing nutter with enough integrity and intelligence to protect our democracy from a fascist coup.

Trump and his sycophants tried to coerce state election officials to violate state law and the Constitution and send an illegitimate slate of electors to Washington DC. Or find votes for Trump that didn't exist.

The lies about a stolen election led to many threats of violence against honest civil servants doing the hard work of counting votes and maintaining the legitimacy of the election.

Currently, the members of the January 6th committee are getting death threats and will need a security detail. Leave it to Trump supporters to threaten the lives of those providing facts and truth.

Trump barely avoided a mass resignation from the DOJ. Thankfully, principled people resisted Trump's attacks and protected our democracy and the Consitution.

And, people who think they are innocent do not request a "blanket pardon" from the president.

Trump, the orange man baby has had numerous food tantrums.

He wanted to allow protesters armed with firearms into the Capitol and turn off the metal detectors.

He physically attacked his own secret service detail when he was told it was unsafe to return to the Capitol.

Liz Cheney: "Do you believe in the peaceful transition of power in the United States of American?" General Flynn: "The Fifth"

“Whatever your politics, whatever you think about the outcome of the election, we as Americans must all agree on this: Donald Trump’s conduct on Jan. 6 was a supreme violation of this oath of office and a complete dereliction of his duty to our nation. It is a stain on our history, it is a dishonor to all those who have sacrificed and died in service to our democracy, when we present our full findings we will recommend changes to laws and policies to guard against another Jan. 6.”

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (Rep) Illinois 6th District

Pretty much sums up Trump's entire presidency.

The committee voted to subpoena Trump. He won't show up, he is too busy trying to defend himself again an obvious violation of the Espionage Act. I would love to see Trump testify. What a nightmare for his lawyers.

And the Secret Service may have also been involved in the attempted coup.

Does a subpoena have a written deadline to respond? If so, it will be ignored. I predict that nothing will come of it. Steve Bannon was convicted of contempt of congress three months ago and is still on the street.

Trump scares all politicians, no matter their party affiliation. If he gets back in office in 2024 and the GOP gets the house and senate, he'll make his first business to tear down the government and rebuild it in his image. Are you ready to goose step?

The final day of the January 6th investigation. With all of the facts, evidence, and under-oath testimony from the witnesses, the committee has made a criminal referral to the DOJ to prosecute traitor Trump on four charges.

Obstruction of an Official Proceeding: The committee recommended this charge because they believe Trump repeatedly attempted to stop or undermine Congress' certification of the election in the weeks leading up to January 6. They also say Trump deliberately attempted to stop the process by instigating a mob to storm the US Capitol on the day of the ceremony itself.

Conspiracy to Defraud the United States:The committee believes Trump worked with others to impede the function of the US government and mislead the public about the results of the 2020 election.

Conspiracy to Make a False Statement:The committee claims Trump and his backers' planned to submit a slate of false electors in key swing states who would have handed him the presidency in defiance of election results.

Insurrection:This crime relates to inciting, assisting, or engaging "in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States." The committee argued that Trump encouraged his supporters to come to Washington and cause havoc, and as the attack was going on, failed to take appropriate action to end the violence.

Merrick Garland has appointed Jack Smith as special counsel to look into the evidence provided by the January 6th committee as well as Trump's treasonous mishandling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.

I hope, for the sake of our Democratic Republic that Trump is held accountable for his crimes. And that we can finally put the cancer that is Trump in our rearview mirror as he is put into prison where he belongs.

I find it's kind of silly how so many of you are willing to condemn Trump yet you say nothing about Biden who is way worse for our country than Trump. Where is all the hate towards Biden who, along with most of the Democrats who are determined to ruin this country? Biden ignores the Constitution, makes us dependent on others for our energy needs, allows people to pour across our southern border, takes pay-offs from China....the list of his wrongs goes on and on yet no one talks about that. Are we better off with Biden? If you think so you need to go to the gas station and the grocery store and think honestly about how much worse off we are than when Trump was in office. Let's face it, our government and both political parties are a disaster. We need true Statesmen/Stateswomen in office, not power seeking, self-serving criminals who ignore the Constitution and the welfare of the country and it's people. Let's get some honesty out there and not just one-sided hate rants!

Joe Biden has done an excellent job as president in this divided nation. The bipartisan Build Back Better and inflation reduction acts have proven to be successful. Our current inflation situation is the result of Russia invading Ukraine, which is the result of Trump's appeasement to Putin.

Your alternative is Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, and Trump. Spare us.

Full stop right there. You can take your border, economic, and inflation BS and cram it up your anal sphincter. NOTHING MATTERS EXCEPT THE PRESERVATION OF OUR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC. Two years ago, a mob of domestic terrorists attempted to overthrow our government. Instigated by a sitting President! Currently, the supporters of that same attempted insurrection are taking control of the House of Representatives. If we don't have a functioning democracy, we have nothing!

Two years ago yesterday, our nation watched in revulsion as a violent, extremist, and armed mob attacked the U.S. Capitol – fueled by conspiracy theories and BS about the 2020 election that the orange headed cockroach was using to incite his mob. I remember watching a bunch of moronic goons damage and trash the halls of congress. It was a shameful day in this country’s history.

Now another one of the new invasive species, spawned by the fat assed, unenlightened, orange-headed cockroach, has crawled from its sensory deprivation chamber and is spreading its malevolent ignorance here. This thread is on the January 6, 2021-insurgent attempt by the orange headed cockroach to overturn this Democratic Republic not on the present state of the economy. However, by the way, the present state of the economy is directly attributable to the Covid pandemic, Russia’s war on the Ukraine and the prior administration’s failure to do anything other than give away the farm, in 2017, to corporations and the obscenely wealthy in tax cuts.

Blaming present gas prices and inflation on the Biden Administration is like blaming the 49% increase in the price of eggs on Biden rather than the euthanizing of tens of millions of chickens due to the Avian flu.
