Old building on NW corner of Main and 10th
Posted by Berta (+36) one year ago
I remember a small old building, perhaps log, that sat on the corner across the street from the library. It had a boardwalk entry, as the building sat back a bit from the main sidewalk. Not sure if it was a pawnshop, or some sort of tool sales. This would have been 1949 or so. There was a bakery in the building next to it (The Masonic building, I think.) The lot eventually became a gas station.

Is there any source for information about buildings during the 40s-50s?

Thank you.

I'm not sure if this is helpful, but it is interesting. This is from page 44 of the Centennial Roundup (Miles City 1887-1987) published by the Miles City Star in 1987. This was written by Jean Freese and one of my best recommendations for a local expert would be Amorette. She addressed a lot of my questions when she was at the Historic Preservation Office (not certain what happened to all of the Historic Preservation Office things). I may be able to run something else down here, but thought this was at least a start so you knew someone was paying attention and interested, as well. For what it's worth, 20 years ago, Amorette said there were still copies available.

I'm thinking Krause gun repair but that may be wrong. I'd have to dig a bit.
