It is with deep sadness I saw the death notice on Stevenson's. I am sure I am not alone in having been positively impacted by Basil. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I stumbled across (accurate description if you know my computer skills) this interview with Basil. I enjoyed listening to him again and thought others might, as well.

Basil was truly one of a kind and we, as a community, were more than fortunate that he and Babs settled here.

So sorry to hear about Basil, prayers for his family to be comforted. Played tennis with Basil some times, he was a very kind generous man.

Shu, I'm very sorry about your family's loss. Basil was a good man. I always admired his life story of leaving Iraq and making his life in the US. I also enjoyed having him as a teacher at MCC. He will be missed.

Hello all. Thank you for your condolences and your kind words. Much appreciated.

We finally completed the obituary and funeral plans.

I don't really know what else to say right now, other than I love and will miss my BABA. Maybe more words of respect and tribute will come later...I can only hope for as much.

Thanks for posting the link to your dad's obituary, Shu. Although I do not recollect ever meeting him, he was obviously beloved in the community.

If it's not too personal of a question.....I read he passed from COVID-19. Was he vaccinated? I am interested in the rates of the elderly who are vaccinated but still contract COVID and get seriously ill, as it doesn't seem to be much of an issue for younger people, but the jury seems to be out on the elderly.
