Yes.

Because he is not a miserable lying piece of excrement trying to overthrow our government.

Next question?

So, I assume, you think he is doing a good job. Not in comparison to other presidents.

May be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think there was ever going to be a good way out of this. No matter who was in charge.

Another 20-years? 30? 40?

Biden made the right call.

I'm trying to get an overall opinion of how people feel about our president.
Not just for one specific decision. Are you proud or ashamed of him?

I can't say I have ever been "proud" of a president. "Support" would be a more appropriate term.

Similarly, I never thought of being "ashamed" of a president....but that was before Trump. Trump was the only president I have been ashamed of.

While I disagreed with Reagan and W, I did think they were honest men who thought they were doing the best for the country. I actually liked Bush Sr.

So, to answer the question, I support Biden and his agenda that has widespread support among moderate Democrats and a few moderate Republicans. I think he's doing the best with the lousy legacy he was left behind. Takes a while to clean up someone else's mess.

Yes, I support Biden.

Unfortunately, I’m not surprised by the right winger’s, including Trumper’s, failure to analyze an issue. It is much easier to just regurgitate Fox ‘news’ and Republican sound bites. One Democratic and two Republican Administrations went along with the premise that Afghanistan could be a government rather than a compilation of barbarous tribes and warlords.

Trump and Pompeo’s shortsighted bungling set up the present Afghan disaster. Trump authorized negotiations with the Taliban without the participation of the Afghan government. This was a Taliban demand and Trump acceded to it, demoralizing the Afghan government and its military. Later, last year Pompeo met with a Taliban delegation in Qatar. Pompeo and Trump told the Taliban we would remove all US troops from Afghanistan and free Taliban prisoners if they committed to stopping attacks against the US. Trump then pressed the Afghans to release 5,000 Taliban prisoners only to watch them go back into the fight against the Afghans who released them.

The Taliban then began to negotiate the dissolving of Afghan military units throughout the country during the drastic drawdown of our military presence. Consequently when the Taliban take over started the Afghan government just melted away and its leaders fled the country. Of course, Biden thought the Afghan military would, perhaps, prop up the government, or at least slow the Taliban down. Right or wrong, this is a reasonable assumption given 20 years of our training the Afghan military and providing them with hundreds of billions of dollars in funds, weapons and supplies.

To our Afghan veterans and any others who are disillusioned and wondering what it was all for....I say welcome to Vietnam mother procreators.

I'm proud of our President for owning the decision to end US security involvement in Afghanistan, and I support most of our President's foreign and domestic policies.

But I'm not in a procreateing cult or anything, I'm not going to buy a bunch of Biden campaign merchandise and cover my car in bumper stickers and drive up and down the highway with a giant BIDEN flag to let everyone know how much I procreateing love Joe Procreateing Biden.

And nothing that's been said or seen in the last week has diminished my respect for our President's forthright decision to follow through on the agreement negotiated by the prior administration, to end our military involvement in Afghanistan.

So often our leaders tell us lies and stories to inflame our passions or soothe our consciences - to have a leader that respects us to be adult enough to handle hard truths and plain speaking is a breath of fresh air.

I'm willing to chip in on buying Jeff a one-way ticket to Afghanistan so he can show us how it's done. 20 years of American lives and money wasted on building the Afghanistan National Government only to see it fail in ~11 days. Some people are slow learners.

Is "Any mercenaries, american or otherwise still left in Afghanistan on 9/1 can get deservedly procreateed" too hot a take for the delicate flowers of the right?

The website has a profanity filter that automatically turns the f-word into procreate. Don't blame Bridgier for that.

I'm not in the mood for mindless b.s. today. I'll give him a little credit that his b.s. was posted a day ago or so. Anyone you guy's age should know better. I would apologize for much less, but that's just me. I actually wrote an apology letter but happy as hell that I didn't post it. I already look a fool in most of your minds. God Bless the USA and those stranded in Afghanistan. Wow, bad day.

Sorry, I almost missed your comment because it was over here instead of on the piggy banks. I'm glad you liked them. We probably agree on some things, as well as disagree on others. No doubt I'm foolish (or old--or both), but I try to find areas where we can hopefully discuss things without rancor. My experience has always been that it is easier to find commonality with things like the piggy banks and history--with that same commonality, we stand a better chance of discussion and perhaps understanding on all sides.

I still see no reason not to be proud of our president in this time - why should we change course because ISIS has taken advantage of the situation to cause mayhem? It's what they do, and is further proof that we can't leave fast enough. And any mercenary who needs to get out can hitch a ride with Mr. Prince for 6K, or so I'm told. I assume they've gotten paid, so again, procreate them sideways.

Now, for people who feel that I'm trying to be cute through circumlocution, I assure them that I'm not - Mr. Antrim, in his wisdom, takes the words that we so thoughtfully deposit into his website and runs them through a filter so as to render them fit for they eyes of the more delicate among us.

Anyways, the blob wants eternal war, Trump capitulated to the Taliban last year, that the military and government we spent 20 years building surrendered so abjectly only means Mr. Biden has done the right thing.

The only other option here would have been a long an bloody battle in the streets of Kabul for what? More dead civilians? More dead soldiers?

Overall, I approve of Biden's decisions so far. No doubt the withdrawal from Afghanistan has been a chaotic mess. But, over 100,000 people have been evacuated in less than a month, both American citizens and our Afghani allies. Let's not forget that Trump and Pompeo made a deal with the Taliban, without including the Afghan government, allowing for the release of 5,000 Taliban prisoners. This is probably one of the reasons the country fell so quickly to the Taliban. My biggest disappointment with President Biden is he didn't fully evaluate the "deal" that Trump made with the Taliban. He should have re-assessed the situation and set a longer timeline for a more orderly withdrawal. If Trump supporters think this would have gone any different under Trump, they are delusional. And you know damn well that Stephen Miller would have left our Afghani allies there to be slaughtered by the Taliban. Cleaning up after the disaster that was the Trump presidency is not an easy job.
