Cowboy Carlson and Veterans Housing

Two history issues have come up recently. I have had an inquiry about "Cowboy" Carlson, a wrestler from Ashland in the 1950s-1960s. I know very little about him. Anyone know more? I can connect them with the questioner.

Second, does anyone know if the old Veterans Housing in Tourist Park by Riverside Park had shared or separate bathrooms for each unit. From the description in the paper, it sounds like they had a sink in the kitchen but shared bathroom/laundry/shower facilities. Anyone know? Know someone who would know?

I went to High School with Suzie (daughter), class of 83 , my mind was foggy as many in those days. She had an older brother which I unfortunately, do not remember his name, no disrespect, I just cannot think of his name. I'll look in the annuals and try to provide more resources. You are making me want to scan old photos, like I need something else to do DJ Suzie has not been to any reunions, so maybe a hard one to get in touch with. PM me I'll give additional remote resources. DJ

This is what I am finding concerning. All along I just thought your rambling posts were from someone who was drunk, taking drugs, or was just old. Now I see you were of the Class of 1983, so old age has been ruled out.

So seriously, have you seen a medical doctor recently? I am concerned about your health.

No I have not. Not recently. I do appreciate your concern. I would delete some posts of mine, if i could. Especially the day after.

In an effort to perhaps provide some redeeming value and provoke some memories, was there an event in which Cowboy Carlson carried a goat (or some similar sized animal, on his shoulders, up a telephone pole?

I believe it was a shetland pony strapped to his back.

You have to hear how the announcer says Ekalaka :

Cowboy Carlson vs. Vincent López (05/08/1953)

My mother has been following this. She doesn't have an account, so I am posting for her.

Cowboy Carlson also married Ramona Kromlich. They had two children, a girl named Mona Carlson who was in first grade in 1950-51, and a boy named David Carlson who was not yet in school in 1950.

Ramona and the kids lived in Broadus, while Cowboy was away wrestling.

When he brought a woman home with him, it soured the marriage.
