Scorching Hot

It's supposed to get to 102°F here today in Helena.

That's way too hot for the middle of June. But at least we have avoided the earlier bout of hot weather that hit Miles City.

Curious, I looked up the forecast for MC...and see that tomorrow it's supposed to get to 107°F.

That's like getting into Phoenix territory.

107F would have to be a record high for the date if not an all-time high for Miles City, eh?

If it hits 108 tomorrow, it will be a record high for the date but I think the record is 111 or even 113.

"But lest you think that temperatures never would reach 108 degrees in Miles City, the city's hottest day, July 19, 2003, hit 113 degrees. Three other days, all since 2002, have exceeded 108 degrees, according to weather records from January 1984 to December 2012 made available at ClimateSpy."

USA Today: 108 degrees today? If not, small Montana city sets coldest February record (February 28, 2018)

The high in Phoenix today is 113 and 117 tomorrow.

Normally, where I live in NM there is a 6 degree per 1000 feet of elevation gradient. Meaning that its usually 12-15 degrees cooler at my house at 7700 feet than in Albuquerque. That's all broken right now as it's the same temp in ABQ as at 9000 feet. It was 99 at my house yesterday and supposed to be over 100 today. It's about 20 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year. We have had zero precipitation since February. It's desperately dry. I may have to go buy a fan.

While I was visiting Miles City in July 2017, just before I decided to move here, my dashboard thermometer read 112° one day. It usually reads within a couple degrees of what my phone says. But who knows? I was going to buy one of those round yard thermometers at WalMart but no two read the same.

Well, they say
That Santa Fe
Is less than
Ninety miles away
So I've got time
To roll a number
And rent a car

NPR has an article regarding burns from pavement during the heat. I thought it was a worthwhile read. https://www.npr.org/2021/...lopes-the-

I live in Phoenix. I woke up at 3 a.m. today and it was 97 degrees out. I always say we have 3 months of hell but 9 months of heaven.

Old official record for Tuesday was 97. New record 109. We broke it by twelve degrees. Holy hell.

Fry an egg on the sidewalk, just for fun. Thank God were not living on top of a Glacier. I Like my break from not having to ice skate. I do like skating but prefer bladeing. The climate always changes, how do you compensate for the lack of data prior to accurate temp readings? I get it, certain plants/animals thrive and some do not. A lot of life even determine there sex (OMG) based on temperatures at contraception. Don't we all know, evolve to the trend. You non-deniers should be least concerned! Just Evolve. Sure it takes a little sacrifice. But C'mon. Do the readings take in 'Heat Island Effect' even then, before we sacrifice the evil U.S.A economy, our concessions (with your prompting of course, I respect to an extent), have made the U.S. not even comparable to "Evil" China. I love clean air. I know the typical argument already, I listen to NPR. What is your hypothesis. Who should sacrifice their economy now. Who has been a leader in clean air. God as my witness, (which is highly disregarded here), I'll pay for one person to go to China, drink the (unfiltered) water, breath the air, and tell me that the U.S.A. and Trumps arguments are full of BS. Trump is hard to stomach often, we can all get queasy at times and think WTF. Poor Biden, I feel sorry for him. Not a laughing matter. Either Way.

I'd like to see a study, who procreates more females, hot vs. cold at conception. I'd guess democrats. See! The temp may be your friend?

My only consolation is that I'll maybe get to live to see dumbprocreate deniers have to acknowledge that they were wrong.

Now I know where the bummer vote comes from. Flushed you out of the cave. Good to see ya buddy! I've been wrong many times. Unfortunately I evaluate my thoughts and often correct myself. It is hard to be me.
