A sad update: Latest stats say Custer County now has 23 reported cases...and Dawson County (Glendive) now has 3. Going north, Richland County (Sidney) now has 9 cases...not sure how new those are.
https://dphhs.mt.gov/publ...mographicsWhen Dick started this particular thread, he asked:
"Is anybody going to start taking coronavirus seriously? Interested in wearing masks in Miles City?"My answer to that - and by no means am I saying this is an acceptable excuse - is that Miles City's small-town mentality of: "we're out in the middle of nowhere isolated in the plains where not may outsiders want to go. That's it's own protection from the virus". Because of that thinking, It doesn't occur to most of them to take the precautions those in more populated areas (such as the Twin Cities, where I live, for example) have been taking...and not everyone here is wearing masks, either. Lo and behold, one asymptomatic worker from out-of-state comes to Milestown to work a gig and brings the virus with him and, well, here we are.
What's most saddening to me right now is that I cannot come back to Miles City for the foreseeable future to check-up on and visit my folks and my uncle due to the risk of bringing the virus with me since I live in a more-populated area with higher numbers of cases.
