Agent orange fans, before genuflecting at the Trump altar, need to take a realistic look at him, try reading and layoff the Fox koolaid.

Trump scorns science, promotes cuts in medical research, renewable energy, and education, all the while denying climate-change. He promotes programs to help charter schools and provide private-school vouchers funded at the expense of public education. Presently he is on a mission to destroy our postal service which in turn will destroy Montana’s rural communities. Trump and his cronies’ mission is to privatize the USPS, claiming that there’s enough capacity from UPS and FedEx to make the USPS unnecessary. That is complete bull. The Postal Service’s mandate is to provide universal delivery across the United States regardless of profit. This is especially important for delivery and pick-up in remote rural areas.

While the current virus pandemic is not Trump’s fault, the failure to prepare the United States for the pandemic is his fault. We lost of our stockpile of ventilators/respirators because the Trump administration let maintenance contracts lapse in 2018. That year he also disbanded the global security and pandemic white house office. This year, for almost three months, Trump foolishly called the corona virus pandemic a hoax and insisted that it is like a harmless flu that would miraculously disappear this spring. Those months passing, without testing, isolation or ordering supplies, while Trump insisted that the virus was under control, placed the United States on this path to the worst outbreak of the corona virus in the developed world.

Pardon me if I don’t genuflect at the Trump altar.

President Trump early travel ban most like saved countless thousands of lives, or did you forget that? You believe all the made up news these fake news outlets manufacture and then take it as gospel truth? All these fake news outlets are fed lies and fake news by the Communist Democrat party to begin with. Trump has the best Dr's and Scientists in the world advising him, want to tell those people 'they own this' too?

The American people own this disaster, if they can not tolerate doing what the CDC advises instead of thinking this is some kind of political joke, and doing their part to stem this pandemic, that's pretty sad then.

Step up and be an American who cares about your Country and do your part in this instead of pointing fingers and blaming others and believing lies on fake news outlets.

Some asshole in China started this, deal with it and be a real American and do your part and help others who can't.

Chuckie, um, nope.

Those 23,000 plus Americans who have already died would not share your sentiment.

Especially when the White House knew about it as early as mid December 2019, and possibly before. Also, #45 defunded (fired) the pandemic response team in spring of 2018, and cut funding to the CDC. He left no department in place to handle this very type of situation. NONE!

He's not a hero - he's a zero.

January 22
“Are there worries about a pandemic at this point?”
“We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.

On Feb. 19, he told a Phoenix television station, “I think the numbers are going to get progressively better as we go along.” Four days later, he pronounced the situation “very much under control,” and added: “We had 12, at one point. And now they’ve gotten very much better. Many of them are fully recovered.”

As of April 13 - The USA
Coronavirus Cases:
584,862

He blew it. Yes it's his fault.

Trump blocked travel from China on January 30th. The virus was already spreading in Washington state, the first case having been confirmed on January 21st. Trump was warned in early January, during the daily briefings he refuses to read, about the potential for this to turn into a global pandemic. He continued to downplay the threat, ignoring his scientific advisors, saying it was under control. When the travel restriction to Europe was issued (initially without the countries that had Trump resorts), thousand of people were stuck in airports, crowded together waiting screenings. There was no coordination with the State Department or the TSA about preparing for a massive influx of returning citizens. By February 26th, cases were emerging in California without known contacts, confirming community spread. While the virus was spreading, he continued to blame the Obama administration, calling the democratic reaction to his incompetence a hoax. I could go on and on.

Trump's response to the pandemic has been an unmitigated disaster. It has been a textbook case on what not to do when faced with a public health emergency of this magnitude. Worst president in history.

Not to mention that 40,000 American citizens or persons with special permission traveled from China to the U.S. after Trump "banned" travel from China, many of whom entered without any screening whatsoever.

There needed to be health screenings, quarantines, and competent/effective testing in place for restricted travel to be a success story. That didn't happen.

If you want to know how much good Trump's travel ban did, look no further than the current stats on Coronavirus infection in the U.S.

"The president of the United States calls the shots," Trump said. "That authority is total." Sounds like a two-bit dictator. Can you imagine if President Obama had uttered those words? Sean Hannity's head would explode.

After nearly nonexistent leadership from the White House for the first two months of the coronavirus pandemic, Trump want to call all the shots for reopening the economy. I was glad to see several governors get together to coordinate this process using science and factual information. Basically the opposite of what one gets from Trumps daily self congratulatory orange man great misinformation briefings.

And the council Trump put together to guide the reopening of the economy has no doctors or public health professionals. But is does have Ivanka and Jared Kushner,
who are completely unqualified. The only thing they should be counseling anyone on is how to make shady business deals and using Trumps presidency to enrich yourself.

Now when your candidate, Biden, is accused I don't see a single one of you discussing that or saying it is an outrage that he is being considered a candidate for the leader of the country. Neither one was or is currently on trial for sexual assault. One was being vetted for a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land, though. The other one will likely be subject to an election by the American people.

This appears to be revisionist history. Go back and re-read the Cavanaugh thread:

https://milescity.com/for...w/376883/1

Outside of MCD, no one here was outraged over Cavanaugh's nomination and whether the accusers were telling the truth. Most people posting were in favor of Cavanaugh. Only until Cavanaugh had his hissy fit did Dave and I post our disgust with him. And that was over is partisan temperament.

Honestly, people, you gotta quit making sh!t up like your hero Cadet Bone Spurs just because you hate whom you perceive to be liberals. Facts are facts, and no amount of crying Fake News are going to change the facts.

I know plenty of people who are generally conservative and vote Republican who now tell me that made a terrible mistake voting for Trump and will never do so again. Why? Because he is a lying, fear mongering walking piece of human excrement.

That's an apples-to-oranges comparison, David. While Trump uttering the quote "grab them by the pu**y" is, indeed a vulgar and distasteful thing to say, they're just words. They don't constitute a physical act, such as assault...not that I dismiss any of Trumps other wrongs, such as his instances of infidelity.

Slick Bill's cigar episode with Monica, however, was an actual physical act that happened. Consensual? Probably. Infidelity? Absolutely. Monica has since joined the #metoo movement and has tried claiming that the "consent" was a blurred line or implied that she was coerced via Bill's abuse of power. I think that's all bull, though.

Does that answer your question?

Meanwhile, all you haters just keep right on blaming Trump for this pandemic same as you blame him for everything else and see what good it does any of us when it's all said and done.

Me, I'm more concerned about observing and practicing the FDA recommendations and stay-in-place orders so that we may all get through this crisis with as few casualties going forward as there can be, God willing. I'm more interested in how this pandemic can help bring us together instead of further-divide us, as YOU have tried to do by starting this thread in the first place, Tommy.

PS ronaldr, I agree with your observation.

I am beyond irritated that of all the choices we had its come down to a cockfight between a guy accused of rape versus a guy accused of sexual assault. S H I T T Y choice.

But since I apparently have to choose between the two...

-I am mindful that the current Whitehouse occupant has guided the country into the current situation where millions are locked in their homes, unemployed, and wiping their asses with coffee filters.

-I am mindful that the current Whitehouse occupant has destroyed all of the framework that protects our environment.

-I am mindful that the current Whitehouse occupant claims to be "pro-life" in one breath and separates children from their parents and placed them in cages in the next.

-I am mindful that the current Whitehouse occupant has a messianic complex and treats people as disposable if once they've served his purpose or fail to pledge their absolute total allegiance to him.

So, if necessary, I will vote for the guy accused (30 years after the supposed incident) of sexual assault. For all of his faults, I think he is a more human choice that the current occupant.

(Honestly, I am not completely convinced either of them will be on the ballot in Nov )

I will answer this in the same vein as David, who answers most everything with a deflective question.....

Who is making sh** up Gunnar?

As David points out, Cavanaugh was being considered for lifelong appointment to the Supreme court, nothing as paltry as Biden's competing for leader of the free world.

You're going to act like you were telling people Cavanaugh was innocent until proven guilty? I don't think so. Cavanaugh was getting smeared on here for his ALLEGED acts. This was by someone who couldn't remember where or when it happened... now when someone accuses Biden of the same thing with specifics, no one even mentions it on here or brings it up. Purveyors of Hypocrisy, plain and simple.

Shu, spare me your indignation. Have you listened to the President lately? He pays lip service to the country coming together and in the next sentence, berates and insults anyone who asks a legitimate question or disagrees with him. Including other politicians, whose constituents are dying by the thousands. The opportunity to bring our country together during this pandemic disappeared weeks ago with Trump's own words and actions.

This whole situation is as infuriating as is was preventable. As a healthcare professional with 20-years of experience, including time at both Colorado and Montana public health departments, it's mind-boggling how someone with the resources of the President can screw this up so badly. Trump's incompetence has cost people their lives.

As the number of deaths from Coronavirus surges over 41,000, with around 2000 people dying every day from coronavirus infections, Trump supporters are out in force protesting. Somehow they think their rights are being trampled because they can't go get a haircut or go out to eat.

Of course, this is a direct result of Trumps idiotic tweets for his supporters to go out and liberate themselves. From what, I'm not sure. They still think they are being tread on, and Obama isn't even our President anymore, unfortunately.

This is just more distraction from Trumps massively incompetent response to the pandemic, and his failure to provide adequate testing and acquire PPE for healthcare workers. The people who will now have to deal with a surge of infections due to the protests. He really is bringing our country together in this difficult time.

If this doesn’t show how dangerous Trump is I don’t know what will. Someone take away his phone!

A Trump Tale -or- While Strolling Along on a Sunny Day.

You are walking and you come across a young woman who is having respiratory problems and is losing consciousness. Using your superior intellect, you notice she is wearing a hijab. You do nothing and she dies.

You walk further and come across a 40 something year old male who is demonstrating symptoms of a heart attack. Using your superior intellect and noting he appears to be Hispanic, you quickly check his wallet and can find no legal documentation or a green card. You wisely let him die rather than allow tax dollars to be used to save his life.

You walk further and are handed a pamphlet you distributed months ago proclaiming the need for a border wall and touting the claim that since Mexico will be paying for it, What’s the big deal?

You get home and find your daughter and wife in tears. Being the kind, loving husband and father that you are you ask what is wrong. Upon learning that your daughter had her p**sy grabbed earlier when she was standing next to a popular celebrity turned politician, you wisely tell her to quit blubbering and just be glad she didn’t run into Biden instead.

You wonder aloud how come so many people you know who you used to think were really intelligent could now be so utterly stupid with their inability to recognize the greatness of your newest hero. Knowing that it must be due to the whitewashing that happens at these liberal universities, you smile knowingly to yourself and move on.

“Stupid morans.” You say aloud and adjust the brim of your red cap.

FH

Sigh.It is very difficult to have an intelligent debate with those of limited reading comprehension skills. I could go over point by point Ronaldo every point where you don't have a clue, but as Oddjob admonished me a while ago about engaging with Ship, it just makes me look mean.
Have fun living in your own la la Land."

Well Gunnar, Yawn, sorry you feel it easier to give up rather than respond, but I suspect it is just difficult for you to have an intellignet debate with anyone, period. It is that unfounded liberal self image of intellect that gets progressives ridiculed so much. Especially when they actually know less than they think they do. Case in point; my reading comprehension is fine. I think you'll do as you usually do when faced with any competent oppostion and that is to throw out an insult and go back to posting silly political cartoons. Do you draw them yourself or download them from Liberal La la land?

Yes, (intellignet) this is a typo in my post above, not an incorrect spelling, intelligent. I know how to spell too.

"The President of the United States mocking elected officials for putting Americans before themselves shows you just how utterly unfit Donald Trump is for any office in this nation. And for Trump to believe testing is some sort of simple dick measuring contest between nations instead of the foundation of a much larger and more complex problem, shows you just how ill-equipped he is intellectually to manage this situation. This isn’t about what China did or didn’t do. This isn’t about how many tests have been completed in relation to other countries. This is about us, about our country, about our government, and about our leaders taking responsibility for their own failures."

Not me, Bobdodo. I plan on spending a good deal of it supporting Democratic candidates.

And some of the rest will be spent on things to stimulate the economy. Kudos to the House and Senate for getting it done!

I'm curious how many Trump supporters will send their checks back because they hate socialism. Because that is what the money is.

It was my money and Congress sent it to me. I'm using it to pay my property taxes. Not much an economic stimulus but it is a burden off my shoulders. My federal tax refund used to just about cover my property taxes but as my property taxes went up, my federal refund plummeted, especially after that keen 'tax break' we were supposed to get from the Cheeto-in-Chief. I am poor and my taxes went up nearly $1,000 year.

For the first time in several years I have located my password and signed into this site. But I had read it at least once before and was pleased to see that there were several posters who shared my disregard for our president.
It's been a tough few years learning how many of my community seem not to be bothered by the childishness of the man--and simply refuse to accept reality. The day before election when Gianforte body slammed that reporter I thought he'd ruined his chances to become a representative--and the electorate amazed me. Still able and willing to vote for him??
So it is the electorate that I blame. This is one of the few places I feel it possible to express my frustration with our current situation and the thousands of mistakes Trump has made--many of which should have disqualified him for POTUS in the minds of intelligent voters. Just his obvious refusal to acknowledge the dangerous situation presented by a new virus in January and February should be enough for any thoughtful person in my opinion.
The reason I finally looked in here is that I heard a few minutes ago that we have our first covid19 case and thought maybe someone here would have news of it. Have to figure out how to use the site a bit more proficiently.

Thanks for posting, Lance. Since I no longer live in Miles City, I was hoping someone local would post about the MC case, but since no one has, I will repeat the rumors I have heard.

An Idaho worker who was deemed essential for construction services came to town, He has infected two others.

I have no idea if this is true.

And yes, I totally agree with you that Donald J. Trump is a horrific POS.

Since the Bob Woodward tapes have been circulating in the news lately, and deaths from coronavirus have officially surpassed 200,000, I thought I would revise this thread.

Apparently, Trump had some understanding of the severity of a COVID-19 infection, and the potential for it to become a pandemic. He lied to the American people, claiming it would "disappear like a miracle". Dereliction of duty, plain and simple.

But don't take my word for it. Olivia Troye, who worked on the Coronavirus task force led by Mike Pence, explains Trump's priorities very well.
