Who is pro-Trump vs anti-Trump?

I take the position that I will vote for 'Bozo the Clown' over Trump.

Feel free to make your own thoughts and opinions known.

I was in eastern Montana this past weekend hunting antelope with a fine group of upstanding Miles City conservatives. They were of the opinion that Trump makes his own mess, but he is getting "good things done."

I totally disagreed. He is a compulsive liar, a sociopath, and I think he is in the early stages of dementia or Alzheimer's disease. I would vote for anyone over Trump, even the Squad.

I just would wish the those who think they are conservative, would get over the Trump Cult of Personality and vote for a real Republican conservative like Bill Weld or Joe Walsh. But I am starting to think that there is a fairly good chance that he will be removed from office. Not impeached, of course. Moscow Mitch would never let that happen.

The 25th Amendment. It's just a matter of time.

I’d sooner gnaw off my arm than cast a vote for Trump. While I am not supporting Warren in the 2020 election, I will, without hesitation, add that intellectually Trump couldn’t carry her purse. Trump has always been nothing but an illiterate born-rich spoiled punk. It would have been almost humorous to hear him discard our allies, the Kurds, with the comment that they weren’t with us at Normandy, had it not shown us up for what we’ve become of late. Indeed, the Kurds weren’t with us at Normandy. However, Trump has never been with us, including at Viet Nam.

When I think back to previous Presidents,I'm almost embarrassed by the fact that I bashed pop and son Bush.Yes I disagreed with most of their policies and a lot of their actions, but they were civil and respectful..something that is totally lacking with Trump.Things that Trump supporters find acceptable like the Don saying he didn't like people like McCain who got captured[from the mouth of the Bone Spur King that never served a day in the Armed Forces]....or coming up with petty, juvenile and scornful nicknames for people that dare oppose him in any way..I gave up long ago trying to guess what would finally drive a Trump Junkie to abandon the Don...

I would vote for a rusty bucket over tRump. I'm not afraid of strong women so I would vote for Warren. I don't like Bernie or Biden much as presidential material -- strike me as nice guys but not up to the job -- but I will vote for whomever the Democrats end up with. ANYONE but tRump.

I'll vote for anyone I darn well want to (I don't care what party they're in). Given some of the nonsense that's spewing out of the campaigns, it's getting really difficult to pick out the least-crazy person running.

While I suspect the true purpose of this thread is to boost MC.com in the google search ratings, I’ll bite...

I personally would like to see Agent Orange serve another term.

In federal prison.

That said, I think the attempt to impeach Trump is a wasted effort. The way to better governance is to hold a better election. Let him serve his term and defeat him at the ballot box. There is a better chance of healing our country and mitigating the division, if Trump is replaced by being voted 🗳 out of office, rather than removed by impeachment. There’s hell to pay if the Senate doesn’t find him guilty. There’s a 34 vote firewall from Senators who received Russian mob money funneled through the NRA which will probably protect his Orangness.

Other than the Gov. Bullock, who’d make a good president, but should be running for senator, the rest of the democratic field would all be equally ineffective as President. It’s like voting for your favorite shade of 50 shades gray. You can have all the the plans you want, but if you can’t work with both sides of the isle, your plans are worthless. They are all too far left of center to be electable. None of them seem to be able to frame their issues in a way to which voters can relate. While taxes on the well-to-do should be raised, trying to win an election with “getevenism” by appealing to the have-nots, isn’t a winning strategy. The problem with communication, is the illusion it’s actually occurred.

While I honestly believe Agent Orange will be re-elected, I’ll wait until I know who the nominees are before committing. I won’t vote for Agent Orange.

I do wonder, given all the s h i t we’ve recently endured, is anyone still upset about a candidate not knowing where Aleppo is located? 🤔🤐

No, not "to boost the google search ratings". The site already owns that. It was simply a frustrated question wondering how people other than me felt.

Frustrated is how I feel, in particular if I have to pick between Donald Trump or Elizabeth Warren. That's when I vote Libertarian with Richard and let Trump win again.

I think if Trump is to be beaten, A lot of people will have to "suck it up" and vote for whoever the Democrat nominee whether they like the person or not. If you vote for a 3rd party candidate then you are giving it to Trump. That is what he wants.

This depends on the state and county in which you reside.

And lest there be any confusion, I voted for Clinton in 2016. My point wasn't really about voting for 3rd party candidates. It was more about how innocuous details about a decent person are blown out of proportion and we end up with an idiot who is 50 orders of magnitude worse.

As a moderate, I feel Dave's pain, as the "free stuff for all" espoused by the far left goes against my beliefs. It dismays me that the more moderate candidates in both parties, with the exception of Joe Biden (who is too old), are polling dismally. One can only hope that when the real voting begins to happen, people are going to wake up and reject extremism on both the part of right and the left.

That said, I would vote for a loonie like AOC over a criminal sociopath like Trump. There comes a time where every American needs to stand up for the Constitution of the United States of America and truth, liberty, and the American way, and reject Putin's puppet. Pus, I don't think "free stuff for all" can be proclaimed to be the law of the land by executive order. Taxing and spending still has to go through Congress, although I agree that Trump does a pretty good job of cynically manipulating the will of Congress, like that phony emergency on the border..

Trump or Socialism.

Um, as someone who is eligible to collect my Social Security in less than six months, I find the so-called "threat" of "socialism" to be pretty silly. Just a word misunderstood by ignorant people trying to scare other ignorant people.

It's someone besides tRump or it's welcome to the United Subject States of Russia wherein Vladimir Putin makes our foreign policy, we abandon our allies, and the rich laugh all the way to the bank as the poor suffer and the middle class fades away.

ANYONE BUT tRump. Literally. Even Bernie Sanders. Or a rusty bucket.

So, we've heard from all the people who didn't vote for Trump in 2016 and how they definitely aren't going to vote for Trump in 2020, no way, no how.

Now let's hear from all the people who voted for Trump in 2016 who are going to vote for Elizabeth Warren in 2020.

It irks me to listen to or read opinions of citizen experts who are terrified by the term socialism. If you ask them if they have any grandparents or parents who rely on Social Security payments and are medically treated through Medicare, they must and will answer yes. Then if you ask them if they want to take over their parents or grandparents support and pay their medical bills they will answer no, probably because they cannot afford to shoulder those family expenses. These are socialistic programs and this is Socialism. Those who rail against the concept of Socialism should give it some actual thought before shooting off their mouths.

Using Social Security as the example of "socialism" is a fools errand, Hanson. Most people collecting Social Security paid into it, and their employers paid into it, at a cost to the employee who should have received that money as a higher wage. The fact that some people are outliving what they may have paid into it is irrelevant. Millions who paid into it never saw a dime back, if they died before age 62. Millions more who have never stuck a dime into it, receive SSI payments that were never intended in the original plan. Grandma and Grandad may become the recipients of "socialism" when and if they out live their contribution. Even at that, it's probably owed to them because of waste, fraud and incompetency inherent in everything the government does.

Here's the one you should be using. Lets use the VA as an example of "socialism". You may disagree because I'm guessing this is one government service that you use, being a vet. If you don't you're still illegible, unless you managed to get a DD. You may think you "earned" it, and you did by your service. But the fact is, you never paid a dime into it beyond your income tax. All taxpayers are on the hook for the VA. That's "socialism" because people who will never be able to use the service, are made to pay for it.

As for the poll, y'all need to face the fact that Trump isn't going anywhere unless he dies from natural or unnatural causes. You probably missed it because it wasn't on CNN or MSNBC, but +50,000 people showed up to see him.......in (dark blue) Minneapolis. Even more showed up to see Trump in Ft. Worth. Donations are pouring into the GOP coffers ever since Adam Schiff took over the reins of the Party from AOC. That should tell you something about the current status of the Democrat Party and their slate of candidates. The delusion recently floated that the Democrats need Hillary Clinton to run again, to save their 2020 bacon, generated waves of hysterical laughter around here.

Trump is going to run and he is going to win 4 more years. I may even vote for him depending on what I see come out of John Durham's grand jury.

I’m hoping that most folks will give the matter serious thought, set aside partisanship & propaganda, and vote for the person they believe will best serve the interests of the Republic. I don’t know if that is possible anymore, but I hold out hope that it is.

I also hope it will be an honest election, free from “hacking” by the Russians, Chinese, Iranians, Oligarchs, RNC / DNC, & etc. I am not optimistic about this, but it could happen.

All my doubts aside I do hope there will be a record turn out. Vote, I don’t care who you vote for, just vote.

"Oddjob" there is so much wrong with your post that critiquing it is a daunting task and I don't want to spend that much time. But here are a few items:

1. I don't consider the VA as me paying for something that someone else benefits from and I don't. I am glad our nation can provide medical care for veterans. We all benefit from a strong military.

You remind me of people who say, "I don't have kids, why should I have to pay taxes for schools?"

2. Trump claims he had 50,000 people at the Minneapolis Target Center which holds about 20,000 people. Okay, so 30,000 people stood outside. Brilliant people, they are. Like teenage girls fawning over the "Fab Four". That's about your generation, isn't it? 50,000 represents 1.5% of the Minneapolis metro population and about .9% of the Minnesota population. It's hardly a monumental feat and in case you forgot, Trump lost in Minnesota in 2016.

3. CNN and other media outlets did cover Trump's Minnesota rally but the size of his crowd took a backseat to the completely un-presidential things he said during his rally.

4. As for John Durham, the Republican Party has thus far been the masters of investigations that yield absolutely nothing, while the Democratic Party's investigations have resulted in convictions and jail time. I'm not holding my breath for Durham to come up with anything other than dubious headlines on Fox News.

The one thing you are right about, though, is the Democratic Party is at serious risk of bungling another election. But so is the Republican Party, in my opinion.

You don't have time to critique, but you do have the time to write paragraphs of opinion. I don't care what you think, Mr. Schott. We have been drowning in a deluge that same $hit for 3 years.

If there is "so much wrong" please point it out with factual reference.

My only point to Mr. Hanson is that Social Security is not "socialism" to anyone except those who never put a dime into it. Yet every leftist loon drags it out and flogs it as "socialism you're guilty of accepting!!!!!!". I admit the VA is a piss-poor example because of the dedication of those who earned it and deserve it, but it is what it is.

Am I to understand the working definition of "socialism" is getting stuff you don't deserve for free? If so, wouldn't the reduction a corporation pays in revenue to the federal government, while still demanding all of the services used to generate said revenue be considered "socialism"?

There is a real shortage of (sane) conservative voices on this website. I typically vote republican. I'm a veteran and am totally for strong foreign policy and small government. I think a trade war with China is a good thing, someone needs to be tough on them. I think there is a problem on the southern border that needs to be handled and not ignored.

I also hate Trump. Not necessarily all of his policies but pretty much anything he has to say on Twitter or really anywhere else. I don't really want to vote for him, but I really can't bring myself to vote for an extreme liberal.

Well, you had your chance to vote for a reasonable liberal in the last election, and now we have the choices we have. If it makes you feel any better, only Republicans are allowed to rule as kings in this country, so any 'extreme liberal' will be curtailed by a sudden demand for a return to the rule of law by the usual suspects.

So, thinking about this further over the weekend, I'm not sure you should be able to get off the hook so easily for Trump just because you 'hate him', particularly when you follow it up with 'not necessarily all of his policies' - would you be happier if he just said the quiet parts quietly, like a nice polite Republican should, but then you'd be able to vote for a Republican without feeling bad or something?

Because I don't know which policy any 'sane' conservative could get behind - I can't honestly think of a one that doesn't, at it's heart, have some sort of overtly cruel motivation - and I'm not talking about IMPLEMENTATION here, I mean the MOTIVATION is almost always about hurting somebody or something that the current iteration of the Republican Party wants to hurt. And that current iteration isn't much different that the previous one, it's just a little bit meaner, a little bit dumber, and a little bit more lawless, and that's a cycle that's been in place since Eisenhower.

So... wring your hands I guess, but if you pull the vote for any R at any level this next election, you don't really have any excuse - you own this poop. There is no daylight between the Republican Party and Donald Trump, at least not today.
