Impeachment hearings

I don't think this is going anywhere, but I am glad it has been started, Too many of the Dotard's supporters have been brainwashed by FOX News.

What I find truly amazing, is:

Congress approved military aid to Ukraine, as Russia has been at unofficial war with them for several years. Russia annexed the Crimea from Ukraine.

Trump is a pimp for Putin, as Putin has the goods on him (pee tape), and wants to build a hotel in Moscow.

Trump shakes down the newly elected Ukraine president, even though Congress has already approved the appropriation, under the guise that the rest of the EU is not kicking in their fair share. Total BS.

Honest public servants inside the government sees this happen, and files a whistle blower complaint.

After endless stonewalling Trump releases a "transcript" where he is, indeed, shaking down the president of the Ukraine.

And then, Trump brags that he is doing the right thing, Making America First.
.
.
.
I can only slap my head, when I think about how brain dead stupid Trump supporters are.

Gunnar. As long as it drives Trump crazy for awhile (not a high bar there),I am happy.

Side note - Bill Barr, Devin Nunez and Lindsey Graham are three of the most disappointing lackey hacks in history. As far as Daines and Gianforte, they are acting as expected.

Even among the president’s closest allies, Giuliani is now the subject of scorn. When I reached him by phone this morning, following House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s release of the full whistle-blower complaint at the center of the Ukraine scandal, he was, put simply, very angry.

“It is impossible that the whistle-blower is a hero and I’m not. And I will be the hero! These morons—when this is over, I will be the hero,” Giuliani told me.

“I’m not acting as a lawyer. I’m acting as someone who has devoted most of his life to straightening out government,” he continued, sounding out of breath. “Anything I did should be praised.”

I'm starting to wonder how many Lincoln Towncars he owns...

I had a letter to the editor in the Billings Gazette about a week ago that touches on the subject of impeachment. Additionally, I have now concluded that there are no republicans in congress that are acting in accordance with their oaths of office in their support of Trump’s extorting the Ukraine for personal gain.

In the early 60s my shipmates and I took our Navy oaths of enlistment seriously. That oath mirrored the United States Senate oath of office, ‘‘I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

Republican Senate majority leader, Moscow Mitch, is not supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. He violates his oath by refusing to even allow debate on House measures to curb Russian attacks upon our elections and Constitutional Republic. Domestically, AR-15 toting lunatics are slaughtering Americans while he refuses to allow consideration of any House protective measures.

He turned over the power of the Senate to Trump, who violates, on a regular basis, his presidential oath to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Trump is a sycophant (sucks up) to Russian dictator Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un. Trump stripped billions of dollars from the defense budget to fund his vanity wall and now, as we have known all along, he has demonstrated and admitted that he will sell out this country for personal gain.

Neither Moscow Mitch nor Trump, upon leaving or being removed from office, will deserve recognition of having served honorably.

So the GOP line of reasoning is that the transcripts of Agent Oranges phone call can’t be trusted because it’s a second hand account.

This from the same people who believe (and have gone to war with those who disagree) 40 years after the fact we “KNOW” word for word everything Jesus ever said.

The actual word-for-word reliability of the gospel of Mark is akin to imagining and writing down today the pillow talk between JFK and Marilyn Monroe. It may have happened, but nobody really knows what was said. The hypocrisy and irony are astounding. 🤔🤐

I'm not an MSNBC watcher, but this clip caught my attention. I wish more news organizations would fact check Trump in real-time. In the era of fake news/state media organizations like Fox News, it's important for the public to know when the president is lying or providing false information. Which is most of the time.

From the research I've done, this clip provides accurate information about Joe Biden and Ukraine.

Today Donny Dotard announces that he is encouraging China to investigate the Bidens. I can just picture the call. Don the don using his best Godfather/Marlon Brando voice:

"Listen, Xi, I gotta little problem. Its the 2020 election. I need you to dig up some dirt on the Bidens. You got all those spy devices around our country, you gotta have something.

If you get something on them, that little problem of tariffs? That goes away."

My mafioso comparisons to Trump seem to get validated each passing day. Today's news story is how key administration officials involved in the Ukraine fiasco are fleeing to Italy.

https://www.yahoo.com/new...09470.html

Reminds me of the Mafia in the mid 20th century. When the feds started applying the heat, members of the Mob would go to the Old Country for a few years until things cooled off. Or someone got knocked off.

So what happens now?

What should happen is Nancy Pelosi should go to the Oval Office censure the s h i t out of Agent Orange and then state because it the giving season the house is not going to forward the Articles to the Senate. She should then make sure the jack-wagon in the WH doesn't get anywhere close to being reelected. This is best done by taking care of the peoples business, like passing an actual long-term budget rather than these "kick-the-can-down-the-road" continuing resolutions.

I doubt she does what I'm suggesting. I've noticed Democrats have a knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Impeachment is going nowhere in the senate. This is all a huge divisive waste of time and taxpayer money. Trump gets reelected at least one more time.

IMPEACHED!!!!!

Today is a great day in the defense of our democracy. The lying urine-soaked orange cockroach has been impeached!

I don't care if Moscow Mitch and Leningrad Lindsey acquits this criminal president. The House of Representatives, representing the will of the majority of American citizens, has been heard. The Senate, which best represents the Electoral College and deep pocket corporate interests, will have its say in the forthcoming weeks/months. Not holding my breath.

I really wish the Democrats in the House of Representatives would come to understand the band of thieves in the executive branch don’t give a s h i t (we really need to dispense with this fukcing language filter as the times call for cussing) about obstruction of justice, the “rules”, or how other occupants of the WH might normally behave.

The executive mafia thrives on chaos, confusion, and misdirection. They like being being the underdog. They’ve just been empowered, entrenched and emboldened by your articles of impeachment. They will use it as a badge of “honor”. You have honestly just re-elected Agent Orange for at least four more years. They will continue to be and likely become more aggressive in their systematic disruption, derangement, and destruction of our government. Please stop trying to do the honorable, responsible “thing”. Thanks to you, we are now going from impeachment to full-on impairment.

While the House of Representatives was voting to impeach Donald Trump, he was busy at a campaign rally in Michigan making jokes about the late World War II Veteran, Rep. John Dingell -- mocking his widow, who is still grieving his loss, and insinuating he is in Hell.

Trump is sickening and despicable. Are there no Republicans who can no longer tolerate draft dodger Trump attacking members of the military and their families? Probably not-- I’m afraid my take on the Republican party is that they have lost whatever gonads they once may have possessed.

Heard a good analogy this morning about Trump supporters from the editor of Christianity Today, which just came out supporting the removal of Trump (the IMPOTUS) from office. To paraphrase:

"Trump supporters are like batterered women. They stick with Trump even though he beats them and knocks their teeth out, because he still comes home with a paycheck."

Great article in the NYT on how the Trump crime family withheld aid to the Ukraine.

https://www.nytimes.com/2...y-aid.html

Moscow Mitch is going to have a hard time pulling off his acquittal of Trump without having a lot of messy facts come forward.

But here's the issue. Republicans in general, and rabid Trump supporters in particular, DON'T CARE! They don't see what Trump has done as an impeachable offense. They don't believe the testimony of the career diplomats with years of foreign policy experience. They think that the lawyers and Constitutional experts who say what Trump did was abuse of power, as liberal elites out to get Trump.

But these same people who refuse believe the patriotic Americans within our military and State Department who testified under oath to Congress, have no problem believing Russian propaganda and conspiracy theory that it was Ukraine who interfered in the 2016 election. They believe in a nefarious "deep state" that is control of our government.

And to think that Trump withheld the Ukrainian aid because he was concerned about corruption is hilarious. If you look up corruption in the dictionary, there should be a picture of Trump. It was all done for personal gain.

If Obama did half of what Trump has done, the right wing nutters would be marching on DC with their AR's. And if Trump loses the election in 2020, and Trump spouts some insane conspiracy about a stolen election, there will be violence by those same right wing nutters.

The U.S Government Accountability Office, an independent, nonpartisan agency that works for Congress, often called the "congressional watchdog", (obviously part of the deep state) found that the Whitehouse withholding aid from Ukraine last summer violated federal law.

"Faithful execution of the law does not permit the President to substitute his own policy priorities for those that Congress has enacted into law. OMB withheld funds for a policy reason, which is not permitted under the Impoundment Control Act (ICA). The withholding was not a programmatic delay. Therefore, we conclude that OMB violated the ICA."

https://www.gao.gov/asset...703909.pdf

The orange criminal in the Whitehouse blatantly violated federal law. Again. Who are his advisors? Isn't the POTUS supposed to know these things? Definitely not a stable genius.

Trump is not helping Ukraine with its corruption issues.

"By conditioning U.S. support on a specious investigation, Trump has sent a clear signal that U.S. commitment to Ukraine is grounded not in shared values or interests but rather in his personal whims and political aims. It would make sense for Zelensky to question the reliability and value of a bilateral relationship with Washington when confronted with a request to manipulate his country’s legal system in exchange for U.S. assistance."

"On these terms alone, Trump’s attempted shakedown of Zelensky is one of the most disgraceful chapters in modern U.S. presidential history. But Trump’s actions are also damaging in a more insidious sense: They mark an escalation in his administration’s efforts to roll back and politicize U.S. efforts to fight corruption and promote accountable, democratic governance around the world. Rather than aiding Ukraine’s efforts to root out corruption, as the president has implausibly claimed, Trump has undermined Ukraine’s fragile democracy and dealt a significant blow to U.S. credibility on anti-corruption issues."

Now that the they are over, my top takeaways from the impeachment hearings are:

1. Mitt Romney is a man of integrity.

2. John Bolton values country over party.

3. If you think lying about getting a blowjob is an impeachable offense, and that blackmailing a foreign government to influence your election is not, there's a pretty good chance that you are a partisan hack.

4. Although it will never happen, we need a Constitutional amendment to abolish the Electoral College, as it fails to serve the purpose the Framers intended it for.
