Haven Meged gets credit for the takedown.

He just won calf roping in the rodeo at the Fair so he seemed right for the job.

He is also currently number 3 in PRCA calf roping.

How the heck did that calf get over there? It would've had to cross the Tongue!
Although I realize this time of year that probably isn't a tough go.

It went from the fairgrounds, to Spotted Eagle, across the golf course...to the hospital....

In the summer of 1968 or '69 there was a cattle hauler with a load of calves, going through town that hit the underpass around 2:00AM. The driver smacked it pretty good and the impact broke the trailer open, sending livestock running through the neighborhood. Law enforcement and city maintenance crews were enlisted to do the roundup. I was told by some of the participants that morning, that two or three of the calves that got loose were never found. No doubt they fell into someones freezer.
