Helena Industries Closing

It has often been said that the success of a society can best be judged by the way it treats its weakest members -- the developmentally disabled, the physically infirm and the elderly.

In Montana, with all the recent budget cuts, the developmentally disabled are being severely impacted, as the funding for their various needed services has been cut.

The most recent bad news is Helena Industries, which provides both services and jobs to 900 people with developmental disabilities in Helena, Bozeman, Great Falls, Butte and Anaconda is closing. This is a very sad story that will have negative consequences for many people in Montana.

The reasons that necessitate the closing of Helena Industries is not something we in Montana should be proud of.

What do you expect, Western Montana voters are anti natural resouces, logging and mining of any kind. Of course the Montana economics is failing.
It might as well change that part of state Eastern California then they could sell off federal lands.
