Would anyone truly care?

If I tried to SERVE Miles City in any other spot other than City Judge? If so, please advise me. I am 70 and believe I suffer 80% of all the symptoms of Alzheimer's and keep getting older every day.

Thanx.....Ship

Maybe just keep your stuff picked up and orderly. That would show a little respect for your neighbors and people going too the golf course. Or sell it to somebody that does care.

Mr. Shipley...

Perhaps you should look at your situation differently. You have already served your country admirably (admiral-ly ) in the US Navy. You have successfully run one of the best pawn shops in the region, gathering the most unique collection of possessions ever assembled. You've loved one of the most beautiful women in town. You have survived all of the scrapes, bumps, bruises, and wrecks life has thrown at you. I don't know what other validation might be missing from your life, but you shouldn't feel as though you owe the community anything.

I have a hunch that what might be driving you right now is the desire to keep the Shipley name alive in the memory of Miles City. I understand this because I am sort of going through the same internal struggle myself. Finding a way to honor my grandfather Buren, my dad, and soon my grandmother, all people who helped create the fabric of the community is a challenge. I know keeping the memories of your dad and mom alive in the community is very important to you. For this, you are to be commended.

Perhaps a way to do this is to document their history and tell their stories. Most people don't know how Beacon Carter & W&S Propane came into existence. Most people have forgotten about the herd of buffalo your dad had across from the Range Riders museum. (I remember this because my grandpa took me down there when I was about 7, two of the bulls started fighting and your dad pulled a revolver from the jockey box and fired a couple of shots in the air to get their attention. Scared the s h i t out of me.) Most people don't know about your dad's airplane and flying adventures. These are all stories that ought to be told, and only you can tell them. There are several really good writers in town. Maybe you can work with one them and produce a book or some other memorial.

Again, I believe there are plenty of ways you can find validation in life without being an elected official. I think you see your cup as less than half full, when with an adjustment in perspective, the reality is your cup runneth over.

I especially like Richard Bonine,Jr's comments because of my three decades of being a librarian and archivist. There is nothing like seeing the joy of a researcher when he finds the part of history that he has worked hard to find!
As far as Man from Snowy: I guess you have not seen the major improvements that Rob has made at his home! Rob sought help for his disease. He no longer hoards! His yard looks far better and he has been thanked by many people! His doctor sat him down and cared enough to explain what his illness entails and the thoughts that come with it. An extremely gifted and caring counselor assisted him because he got strong enough to seek help!. Huge steps in my opinion!
MEAN PEOPLE SUCK and I have meet far too many in Miles City!
I sincerely wish that the people who say and do horrible things to others- just because they CAN- would one day wake up and realize the pain and misery they create in other people's lives. Don't be the one everyone cringes to see or hear from; the one at work who plays evil and management allows it; the meth sick people who only care about their own needs; the neighbor or tenants who have no idea what the definition of CONSIDERATION means! I love Montana and won't stand silent any longer when MEAN PEOPLE go off with their sick anger to ruin living here!

Man from Snowy Plains,
You, Sir, are sadly mistaken about so, so ,so, so much. In the very FIRST INSTANCE.......every American in every city or town has the CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to own and enjoy property. This is all written out in the 4th,5th and 14th Amendments. When anyone from Trump on down to a Miles City mayor wants to EVER EVER EVER EVER know the truth.....they must GOOGLE and read and learn what was the RULING from the U.S. Supreme Court by Associate Justice Antonin Scalia in the SCOTUS case, "Florida v Jardines." Google Wikipedia and scroll down to Scalia's opinion. Read and LEARN what "curtilage" is ALL OVER THE United States of America. Understand that NO ONE, not any one person, holds any right to bitch and whine and produce any actions against any other CHILD of GOD about how or why they buy what they want, store what they want ON THEIR OWN property, unless such items of personal property actually offend the sense of smell and are actual health risks or actually *** ACTUALLY *** interfere with the freedom for anyone to walk or drive in complete safety by or near the subject property.
I like my home. It is paid for because Bank of America tried three times (3x) to illegally steal it from me, and, by my little dumb self, with no lawyers and no CPAs, I forced with the Holy Bible and prayers and TRUTH, the criminals who are Bank of America to back off from me and write off their ILLEGAL and 100% toxic mortgage of more than $85,000. All by my dumb little self.....and a TRUE miracle from Holy Father GOD. {{{{{ March 10, 2014, to which Sheriff Tony Harbaugh can and will always attest. }}}
I love Miles City with a truer love than possibly 85% of all readers of MC.com.
I could NOT ever care less what you do in or near your home. Your home is NONE of my business and this is a teaching I have been given from GOD Almighty many, many, many years ago........YOUR HOME is *****none***** of my business. So, neither can mine ever be for you. Period. Done deal.

And, EVERYTHING in law, no matter how huge or how small, EVERYTHING that begins every action in law is a *signed* complaint. The Miles City Police Department, like all of the tens of thousands of police departments all across the USA, buys its COMPLAINT forms by the dozens of pads of them from commercial printing companies, perhaps the Miles City Star. Why? Because as I have already TAUGHT you here...........EVERY single action in law always MUST originate from a ***signed**** complaint from a human being who alleges a true injury of some kind. With no *****signed***** complaint there is no record of anything ever happening, and, there is no crime alleged and no case. Period. Done deal.

How many of the 8,800 plus Miles City people have ever signed a MCPD complaint form about the appearance of my home since August,2006?

Zero. Nada. Never a one. So, all of the $250,000 the City of Miles City has wasted persecuting me about maintaining a public nuisance is all insane and illegal. Not one (1) MCPD complaint ever in 11+ years. Sad. Sad. Sad.

There are easily more than three hundred (300) homes in Miles City with yards or lawns or back spaces or front spaces way more sad than mine has ever been.

GOOGLE and read and learn Montana Code Annotated "Public Nuisance".......
"by an entire community, neighborhood or any considerable number of persons"......and it does not read......"by any insane mayor executing illegal actions from an anonymous telephone call."

Thank you, Ship

I will write a decent reply later on when I have time to digest all the gravity and merit of your writing as you have.

Thank you, sincerely, "Ship"

To Marie Connors and Cubby and for the benefit of all good Miles City people.
Last February at the Miles City VA my primary care physician told me he had told me four (4) years ago I was bipolar. He just did not "think" I was bipolar, his advanced medical knowledge and experience proved to his mind that I was bipolar indeed. But, four (4) years ago I was all twisted in knots with the City and its seventh (7th) year of public nuisance persecution and so I did not take to heart what the good doctor was advising me.
Why am I one (1) of the thirty million (30,000,000) Americans who live under the stress and duress of being bipolar? My VA doctor proved it to me. Because of the massive head injuries I received when I crashed my '55 Chevy hotrod all over the front of a Rice Chemical ( out of Great Falls ) transport on the first curve east past John Muggli's spread on the Baker Highway, May 19, 1967. The good doctor explained all of this to me in certain medical and technical terms for not fifteen (15) minutes, but, for two and one half (2 1/2 ) solid hours.
Ninety-two stitches in my face, two (2) concussions, three (3) skull fractures, front upper teeth requiring being sewn back into the gums, left eye popped out onto my cheek like a bruised purple grape, and, all ribs broken as well, and on and on and on. So, instead of hating myself for so very many failures here in my home town that I love; I no longer think of myself as being a total jerk, just that I must think and pray my way through to survive having been bipolar for now fifty plus (50+) years, and, having survived a kidnapping at gunpoint (which didn't help anything between my ears, March 12, 1985) and the two (2) nervous breakdowns the corrupt city court smashed onto me March 24, 2014, and May 25, 2014 as well.
I never was a hoarder. That term is so very sadly shopworn. My wife and I, Elaine Shipley, made a lot of money owning and operating Custer Pawn and Consignment, then Sojourner Pawn and Bible, 1703 Valley Drive East, and after her divorce in 1984 my bipolar mind was always trying to catch up. Can you understand this? I always had a great many good new and used tires around my various homes. Beacon Carter Tire Service, Miles City, 1946 through 1996, was one of the very largest tire sales companies in all of Montana. OK ?
Maybe I am a jerk. I do not know. What I do know is I beat the crooked and despicable IRS at their own "stealing" game and was acquitted of all their BS charges; and, I beat BofA, so, I can just plod along , head down and enjoy my life here in Miles City with all of you good thinking and decent people understanding me and forgiving me, right?

Richard Bonine,
I believe Wendy Wilson is Judge Ken Wilson's daughter, is this right? Well, she may be offended by this, but, it is 100% truth. The Wilsons lived next to the Shipleys on Main Street for twenty-six(26) years and were very close friends.
One summer night in the 70's Dad had been at our Tepee Ranch on Tongue River mowing alfalfa all day and was exhausted. He showered and went to bed, badly needing sleep. Wilsons owned a basset hound who started barking that night owing Wilsons were enjoying a pool party and raising a lot of noise. Dad unsuccessfully yelled at the dog a couple of times and this did no good. So, Dad had my Colt Frontier Scout .22 buntline revolver and he shot Ken Wilson's dog in the butt with birdshot and that quieted the dog. Next morning Dad called good friend, Ken Wilson, apologized for his temper, took the dog to the vets near the Sales Yards and paid a small fee to have them extract a few birdshot BBs and give it a shot for infection, etc.
The very day Ship passed away Ken Wilson mowed the entire large Shipley lawn. Ken Wilson also represented R. D. Shipley in a lawsuit about fifty-three (53) head of no brand Hereford calves in the fall of 1961 that went through the ring at Miles City Livestock Center and won a judgment for the Tepee Ranch.

Just some trivia that you may enjoy.

Ship was also asked several times to fly Lyman Choate's Super Cub and run wild horses up in Garfield County into the Missouri River Breaks. I have a dozen or more wild stories about all of these fabulous adventures. One time they had a large bunch of horses (80 or 85) and they spent a whole day chasing them and got nowhere. So, the next day Dad took with him a shotgun loaded with birdshot and shot the lead mare between the ears in order to break her wild spirit and that did the trick. The six (6) or eight ( 8 ) cowboys then gathered about 2/3 of the herd and trucked them to town to sell.

In response to Ship’s post about his dad shooting my dog: Fortunately I don’t have any memory of that. My dad was a soft hearted man. I am not as soft hearted and would have had your dad arrested for injuring our dog. All he had to do was come over and ask us to put the dog in the house.

Wendy Wilson,
It is a sad item that your life is as sad an affair as it is. You come off always as being so authoritarian and so much of a tough woman. You aren't tough at all; in fact, I believe from all others have told me about you, you couldn't pour piss out of a boot even when the instructions were written on the heel.
No one cares about your bad attitude, especially intelligent people who are Christians and live their entire lives cloaked in truth. You never write in MC.com ever the truth, your crap is always innuendo and opinionated bullpoop.
The small deal about my dad shooting your dog is no big deal. It never was of any importance to both of your parents ( and both of your parents are WONDERFUL people ), and, forty ( 40) years later it should not be so unsettling to you.
You think, "I would have had your dad arrested"........is the main theme of this brief life here on the small planet. That is exactly what is wrong with you.
Wake up and smell the coffee. Life is a gift, that is why it is called the present.
TRUTH. If any doubts, get off your lazy butt and call the Miles City Police about this. Ask Winkley also.
Two (2) months ago one of my nine (9) wonderful cats, Smootchie, came up missing for several days. These days stretched into eleven (11). Darrow and I were worried sick about our lovely little devil and called the police and animal control officer.
Officer Winkley drove to our home and we visited and he told us he would be on the lookout for Smootchie.

Next morning, early, I opened the front door to WHISTLE for all the cats outside to come in for breakfast (we train all our cats to come to our whistles).

In shot Smootchie between my feet as if her butt was on fire.
She was not emaciated but she was thin as a snake. She had not been fed nor had any water for her entire stay away.
I snooped around the neighborhood. I discovered the children who may have kept her captive and unfed and without water for eleven (11) days.

Am I going to "have them arrested" like you blab is your main line of philosophy?
No. Hell no. All we have done is feed her and water her and love her and THANK FATHER GOD for her return.

Methinks you ought to dismount from your HIGH HORSE and throw away all the baggage you drag around everywhere you go. Were you once a carpetbagger in the Deep South in another life?

Rob Shipley
Miles City

**** Your dad was one of the very, very , very best SOFT HEARTED men in Miles City. I loved him all the years he was here, and, I constantly entertain myself I will know him and enjoy his loving me in Heaven and he and I can share judge stories and play Bridge together...................forever. *****

Wendy Wilson,
R. D. Shipley's ordeal of shooting Ken and Joanne Wilson's basset hound in the ass with .22 caliber birdshot from more than forty (40) feet away was NEVER any big deal then, and, CANNOT BE A BIG DEAL NOW, forty (40) years later.
Birdshot, Wendy , is exactly that. It is tiny shot pellets loaded into .22 caliber bullets and can NEVER do very much damage to anyone or anything.
It is for shooting BIRDS . Duh? Does it now take a rocket scientist to teach you the difference between the survivability of a good old, fat basset hound and a tiny sparrow? The very few birdshot pellets never penetrated your dog's heavy coat of hair. Duh?
I am quite sure the veterinarian who inspected your dog the next morning simply combed him and surely never needed to treat any breaks in his skin.

Get a life, Lady, get a life.

Mr. Shipley - First order: To downplay being shot with birdshot is imbecilic. If you so believe that it will do no harm whatsoever and could be stopped by a domestic animal's fur, I suggest you volunteer your hind quarters for a test firing.

Also, there are multiple resources for mental health here in Eastern Montana and I would be glad to help you get in touch with someone who can help you with your struggles. Mental health is important and it seems that this site is only giving you a growth medium for your conspiracies. There are people who can help you.

I hope that whatever hell this life has created for you, or rather that you've created for yourself, that you find some solace and contentment at some point.

Look for the good, Mr Shipley, and perhaps you'll finally find it.
