Matt Rosendale to Run for Senate
Posted by The man from snowy plains (-238) 6 years ago
Montana state Auditor Matt Rosendale announced a bid for the U.S. Senate Monday, bringing a high profile challenge to Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Tester.

Rosendale's aggressive campaigning style could give a strong challenge to Tester, who is considered one of the most vulnerable Democrats seeking re-election in 2018.

Rosendale in November won a four-year term to oversee the insurance and securities industries in Montana. He previous served in the state Legislature, representing the Glendive area.

He joins a growing list of Republicans who have announced their candidacy or their interest for the senate post. Few have statewide name recognition.

The race, because of its high profile nature, could be one of the most expensive contests next year.

Tester had $4.7 million in campaign money on June 30.

Apparently out-of-state douchebags like Rosendale see fertile grounds in Montana for their brand of idiocy. I suppose he's a pal of Daines and Gianforte.

Go Tester!

I pretty much have given up trying to figure out why old white men are so stupid. And I am an old white man! It blows the mind away.

I can't figure out why the Montana Democratic Party can't find a reasonable qualified candidates. I mean really...Quist and Tester? Find a good native Montana and I'd consider it. Bullock seems to think he can jump right into the White House. He might make a decent Senator. Tester sure won't get re-elected!!!

You seem to be projecting a bit. Not only is Tester a native, he is extremely qualified and has been a very good senator. Unlike some people I can name, he meets with his constituents, responds to their concerns and has fought hard for issue that are important to Montana.

I am curious to hear what your beef with Senator Tester is. He works hard for the state, especially for our veterans. The only negatives I have ever heard about Senator Tester, which have any basis in reality, is that he is an organic farmer.

Senator Tester has launched a portal to assist Montanans impacted by wildfire and drought -- many of whom are farmers and ranchers who normally are against federal aid and vote Republican. Remember Trump's FEMA initially rejected aid to the farmers and ranchers, and then Governor Bullock and Senator Tester went to work and appealed the Trump Administration's decision.

I've voted for Tester in the past and will do so next year. He's doing a good job under very difficult circumstances, considering that the Republicans control the White House, the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House.

Tester is an Idiot right up there with Al Franken. But his unforgivable sin is his vote on gun control. A little recent activity is about all he has ever done. 265,0p0 acreas in ashes isn't all that hard too get help.

Senator Jon Tester of Montana voted in favor of the Manchin-Toomey amendment because he understands that the government can protect Second Amendment rights while supporting universal background-check legislation. He voted for it because the bipartisan bill required background checks on all gun purchases, including Internet sales. It exempted exchanges between family members and short-term exchanges among hunters and, contrary to what the gun lobby claims, it would have made it illegal to create a national gun registry.

“This makes my Second Amendment rights stronger,” Tester said on the Senate floor. He said the amendment would “keep guns out of the hands of folks who cannot handle them in a responsible way – and have a record of that, a court-adjudicated record.”

Senator Tester has served as senator of Montana since 2006. He is up for re-election in 2018. He has an “A -” rating from the NRA and an “F” rating from Gun Owners of America. He received no funding for his last campaign from either group.

I know, staying up to speed on issues when you are busy throwing darts at your Obama posters is hard.

Holy procreate, is early-onset dementia a requirement for the Republican party, or merely strongly recommended?

As I always tell my eastern Montana Republican friends, I am not rich enough or stupid enough to become a Republican.

I have no idea what Snowy Plains is babbling about. Tester got an A- from the NRA, which is pretty darn good. The other organization is a bunch of right wing crackpots who are probably white nationalists.
