It reconfirms my belief that the average Montanan is a low information hick who would rather keep the poor and people who are "different" downtrodden, even if it means voting against their own self interest. Assaulting a reporter was a brilliant move by Gianforte to excite his hateful base.

Ed, that is precious coming from a man who suckles at the government teat.

By my reckoning, one out of every two Montana voters doesn't agree with your choice of candidate.

Personally, I would struggle to gloat over a winning candidate who, at age 56, isn't mature enough to control his emotions.

I will gladly stand behind a losing candidate who has class, honor, and integrity over a winning candidate who does not.

And, Ed, what's with the attempt at anonymity? Are you embarrassed by your political views?

If "Ed" were honest his fake name would be "Ed who trolls". What does it say about someone who lacks the "huevos" to even be honest about his fake name?

As Kermit the Frog said, "it's hard being green." And, yes, as a Democrat, it is hard being blue in a red state. However, I'm proud of what the Democratic Party stands for, and am choosing to take the long view of things. History is still being written and we shall all see how the Trump Administration and Trump Agenda will go down in history! I'm thinking it will not turn out for the best for many, many people! Time will tell. Stay tuned! The story is still in the works!

One thing we all know for sure is that Greg Gianforte is not a gentleman!

I always wonder at what point the German people woke up and figured out that Hitler was not going to make Germany great again!

I have always thought it was important to be on the right side of history. I don't think Trump and the Trump agenda is the right side of history.

Time will indeed tell. And, yes, perhaps Tester will be defeated, but the proof will be in the pudding. And, the historical answer to the question will be, "Did Trump and his Republican Administration policies really make American Great Again?"

As I say, time will tell, and we shall all see, won't we!

TRUMP being a Hitler, is kinda of a far stretch even for you MCD. The fact is, HILLARY was just not the answer, The Dems had to know that, But she wouldn't take NO, for an answer. Any women or man but her would have beat TRUMP, Same thing for Rob Quist,
Simply the Dems have some great people, Honest, fair, wise and reasonable unfortunately the loud mouth radicals Won't step aside and let them speak.

I agree with MCD.

At this stage in my life, I no longer have a dog in this fight. I am quite happy to watch this country implode, and watch it rebuild itself. That you ignorant hillbillies choose to ignore my counsel, is fine with me.

No Mr. Schott my views don't embarass me in the least.... what a weird thing to say. My employment has nothing to do with my views, I am proud of my job, I do a job many people don't want to do...if you think you can do it, we are hiring..trying to goad me into reacting with a emotional reply is lame on your part... I don't think your candidate got quite half the votes or he would be headed to DC (which he isn't) so my comment is accurate, yours is not (1 in 2 Montana's is not how the election shaped up) ... I joined this site with my user name well before I made any political comments just to post a few classifieds ads (as if I owe you an explanation) you seem to have found out who I was easily enough so there is no anonimity anyways..... you seem to have a lot of built up animosity, I am glad my posts let you vent some of it.

.....in addition I don't think I was even gloating... just stating a fact... If you guys check other posts I've made I pointed out that most liberal regulars on this site, when faced with a comment or fact that they can't refute, resort to trying to belittle or berate the poster...if you look at most of your posts you made after my comment above you'll see that I was right about that too. Very predictable. It's why I don't post here much, you guys don't seem to be able to tolerate differant or opposing views with much civility.

Ed, you have the ability to change your username on this site. Just click on "My Account" above and then "My Settings". I encourage you to change it to your real name. Have the courage to put your name behind what you believe.

And, Ed, Gianforte received 50% of the vote. That means the other 50% of voters did NOT vote for him. That means that one out of every two Montana voters didn't want Gianforte. That is not a victory to be proud of.

I have been posting here for over ten years, and I have yet to see on single conservative comment that I could not refute.

As this site now has a long history, feel free to search the archives and find me a single instance where the conservatives were right. And no, I am not talking about Benghazi or emails or other such smoke out your butt nonsense, I am talking about real issues like folks getting insurance, economic growth, etc.

Alternative facts are the enemy. Dumb stupid Montana rubes, hicks, and hayseeds are part of the problem.

I bet the D.C. press and other legislators will be very wary of Montana's Greg Gianforte, lest they ask a question he doesn't approve of, and risk getting the Gianforte treatment -- hands around the neck and thrown to the ground.

Indeed Ed, These liberals on the forum attack in groups. They Don't really have much of a life, Watch out, they like to think they are highly over educated and therefore always right. Gunner will put the foopah on and then wind up MCD like a toy Minton to bury ya liberal media.

They avoid simple facts. And dance about like a tribe of native Americans chanting and whooping like a war dance.
8 years of OBAMA ADMINISTRATION POLITICS,is over. They grew up in Miles City, went to collage on the Liberal west side of the state drank the koolaid.
If it was Verbel Conversation they would be SCREAMING over the top of your voice to drown you out...Libs have changed the last 10 years too rude and obnoxious.

Here are a couple of articles:

“Press Groups Urge Congressional Probe of Gianforte” by Bobby Caina Calvan, Associated Press, June 2, 2017

“A national coalition of press groups urged a congressional ethics panel on Friday to consider disciplinary action against Montana’s newly elected congressman, who is charged with throwing a reporter to the ground during a confrontation a day before the election.” . . . .

“Amid a climate of escalating hostility toward the press it is essential for the House to send a clear message to its members and to the nation that hostile treatment of the press will not be tolerated or ignored,” said Gabe Rottman, the Washington director of PEN America, one of several groups, including the Society of Professional Journalists, seeking an inquiry by the Office of Congressional Ethics.”

Snowy, my dear boy, re an earlier post of yours filled with pearls of wisdom, yet fraught with peril and worthy of consternation.

IE;
If you guys check other posts I've made I pointed out that most liberal regulars on this site, when faced with a comment or fact that they can't refute, resort to trying to belittle or berate the poster...if you look at most of your posts you made after my comment above you'll see that I was right about that too. I took your advice, seeing it as a learning experience. I went back through my posts, all eighteen hundred and twenty of them over the past fifteen years. I have been accused of being condescending (that means talking down to people,) a liberal, a socialist, and I am sure that other vitriol has been spewed in my direction. Why, I even went to your blog and read your newest posts. BTW congratulations, I see that you are up to eleven followers now. Nothing compared to Jim Jones but I am sure that they are good men, tried and true. My point and I do have one is, during those fifteen years, all those eighteen hundred and twenty posts were under the proud banner, Tucker Bolton. More specifically, Tucker James Buford Bolton. Those who have accused me of being a socialist, liberal or atheist, I have no quarrel with. I am all of those things and count among my friends several who are none of those. Surely your interests outside of cowboy stuff are more than the conspiracy stuff. They must be or you are just a boring SOB, n'est-ce pas?

The Newseum in Washington, D.C. will be displaying reporter, Ben Jacobs, broken glasses as "a powerful symbol of the threats journalists face while reporting the news — even in the United States."

http://www.newseum.org/20...o-newseum/

https://www.washingtonpos...35a2d07b5a

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newseum

Reporters in the future won't have to use the word "alleged" when describing Gianforte's assault on The Guardian reporter, Ben Jacobs, as Gianforte will be entering a guilty plea when he appears in court on Monday.

https://www.theguardian.c...bs-montana

Gianforte has apologized to the reporter. I wonder when the people of Montana, who have been embarrassed by this reprehensible incident, and the worldwide negative publicity it engendered, will get their apology from their newly elected Congressman.

Former Montana Secretary of State and state Senate President, Bob Brown feels the same way.

Greg Gianforte was sentenced today (06-12-17). Since Gianforte will be dealing with reporters as Montana's sole Congressman, hopefully, the anger management classes will teach Gianforte how to not act aggressively when asked questions by the press in the future.

Here's what Hollis Williams of Seattle wrote in a letter-to-the editor published on June 11, 2017 in the Billings Gazette:

After your reporting on the incident with Greg Giantforte and the reporter from The Guardian and other reporting on his behavior, I would strongly recommend that the judge in Gianforte's case ensure that he has a full course in anger-management. He will not be an effective and positive representative of Montanans in Congress, in his office, in public meetings or on committees if he fails to gain some public skills in interfacing with people, on good days and bad, who see things differently than he does. (Emphasis added.)

I'm glad the Judge West thinks the same way! Many of us do!

By the way, if you are the man who called and left threatening messages on my phone a month or so ago, the police were notified. Although you left no name, and tried to block the call, the wonders of technology came up with the name of the person who placed the call. So, watch out -- law enforcement is involved at this point!
