Why can't we get Luke Bryan to play here?

Standard seats: 22 * 18 * 5 = 1980
Box Seats (20% extra): 26 * 8 = 208
Standing only (10% less): 1000

Total "seats" is 3,188.

If everyone paid the same price: $400,000/3188 = $125.47

But we'll pretend there are 20% more people in box seats (250) and 10% fewer in the standing section (900).

1980 + 250 + 900 = 3,130 tickets sold.

$400,000/3130 = $127.80 per ticket.

$127.80 * 1980 = $253,044 needed for standard seat section.
$127.80 * 250 = $31,950 needed for box seat section.
$127.80 * 900 = $115,020 needed for the standing section.

$253,044 / 1980 is $127.80 per ticket in standard seating.
$31,950 / 208 is $153.51 per ticket in box seating.
$115,020 / 1000 is $115.02 per ticket in standing area.

I think it may be optimistic to get 1000 people into the standing area.

You have other costs such as staffing the arena, security, electricity, insurance, and cleaning up the arena after the show.

You have other income from concession sales.

Who gets left holding the bag when you only sell half the tickets you need to sell?

Full disclosure, I have never listened to Luke Bryan, he is just a very big current country star.

As far as all of the other stuff, I agree. I purposely left it all out to keep it simple. My main idea was to illustrate just how difficult it would be to get a big star.

Nice problem solving by the way.

Yeah, it's tempting but risky to put on a big show like that in a small market.

Another risk would be bad weather causing havoc with the show. Anyone remember a few years back when an outdoor concert was taking place at the fairgrounds and the wind picked up causing a garbage can lid to fly and hit the star of the show in the face? He had to leave the show to go to the emergency room for stitches. Only in Miles City!

I don't trust any country singer who doesn't wear a cowboy hat.

The premium boxes only hold six seats so your calculation is down 52 tickets.

Maybe consult with an airline on how to fit 8 people into a space intended for 6.

$400k seems low for a modern country rap singer in skinny jeans and his cap on backwards, but assuming it is correct you need to add 10% for the booking agency, the sound and lights company is probably going to be at least $20-25k, any additional backline rental (instruments) they don't carry on the road, rain insurance at around 3.5%+ depending on the window of time, security, and all the hospitality required for his entourage. There's a reason these guys only play in stadiums.
