Notice how the CoL shoots up during the 1980s. When Ronnie Reagan revolutionized America.

Another completely unfounded statement from the resident "historian".

Some of the biggest jumps in the COL data presented are from 1971 to 1983 presided over by Nixon, Ford and the 2nd worst President in history, Jimmy Carter.

Some of the biggest effects on your wallet in this time frame were Johnson's/Nixon's debt from waging a war on credit, Nixon's changes in monetary policy, the OPEC generated oil crises and Jimmy Carter.

And the #1 worst President in history, Mr. 2.0%, keeps claiming he was hamstrung by the mess he inherited.

I’m always impressed (and thankful) that food costs have been (and remain) relatively cheap in the U.S. As a side note, the fact that this country continues to export more food products than it imports, has real and very positive impact on national security.

We owe a vote of thanks to the Nation’s farmers, ranchers and Ag producers.
