Electoral College Monday

Hey are any of you liberals still holding out hope for a last minute defeat of Trump on Monday?

Believe it or not, I'm not a "liberal" as you label it. In any case, I expect a handful of electors will change their vote, or not, but it won't matter. Donald Trump is going to be our next president. Unfortunately.

I'm not worried. But, I was thinking with all the hand wringing about the popular vote in the days after the election, the massive on line petition, the CIA saying Russia was involved and some electors declaring for Hillery and all that some liberals might actually think it was possible to defeat Trump on Monday.

I was thinking it might be like another election day and I could experience the win all over again. But it would be more fun if the liberals were holding out hope so that's why I'm asking.

Most of us liberals are smart enough not to participate in your schadenfreude.

I'd rather see Trump's presidency blow up about mid term, Sammy My-Little-Pony.

Oh com'on liberal, don't go off topic. It's just a question. Do you hold out hope or not?

Baiting and often the bullying that follows are not traits that one should be proud to display.

Apparently, even with all the media coverage, CIA reports, rogue electors, the petition, demonstrations, recounts and riots there is no hope at all for liberals. Sad... well then, that may be then end of hope but change is on the way Jan. 20.

Democrats need a little introspection

I wonder what the reaction of the Star and other media would have been if after President Obama's elections, republicans had taken to the streets with signs saying 'Not My President' and had, in some cases, damaged property.

What would they have said if Republicans had accused the president of trying to establish a totalitarian state and called his supporters 'deplorables'?
What if they had called on the electors to overturn the will of the voters and even tried to change the way presidents are elected?

Republicans will now control not only the presidency and both houses of Congress but also the majority of state legislatures and governorships.

The voters have spoken clearly and overwhelmingly rejected the Democrats' message.

Perhaps Democrats need to focus their energies on overturning their far-left policies and leaders.

A) I don't know of any Democrats that took to the streets, damaging property or otherwise protesting Trump's election. Perhaps in some places stuff like that occurred, but that was not here, and it is with a wide swath you paint.

B) The Republicans did indeed pull a 'Not My President' when Obama was elected by making a backroom deal that became very public, to block or obstruct anything he wanted to accomplish. They have also filibustered hundreds upon hundreds of bills, blocked appointments for no apparent reason, and in violation of the Constitution of the United States refused to even give a look at his Supreme Court nomination.

Trump won due to arcane rules. It was not overwhelming. His opponent received 2.9 million votes more than he did. A majority of voters did not vote for him. Less than 80,000 voters (from the millions of voters in this entire nation) located in a small handful of states decided the outcome. He will literally become the biggest 2nd place loser ever awarded the presidency.
