The optimal temperature for growing many types of plant based food is between 70 degrees and 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

When it gets too hot, vegetables become subject to heat stress and the vitamin and mineral content goes down. It gets too hot to grow.

Public health officials have been studying how food production will be affected by climate change, and outlook is not good.
