Trade or Vocational Schools??
Posted by SarahLL (+17) 6 years ago
Hi,

I'm a high school student not interested in the traditional college routine. I am scouting out prospects in trade/vocational schools. I have a wide range of interests! Does anyone know of any trade schools in MT or surrounding area?

Thanks

Miles Community College actually has a number of short term certificate programs for things like driving heavy equipment. I know there are a number of "city" college affiliated with the universities that are vocational more than higher ed programs.

There used to be a way to become a radiologist in 2 years I think. Hospitals often would contract the person to go to school, pay the cost of schooling, and pay a small wage for a commitment to their program.

I do not know if this is still the case, but it may be worth looking into if that is a field you would be interested in.

My company cannot hire enough graduates with an Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology, if you think being a field engineering technician, out of town all summer at remote and semi-remote construction sites, is something that you would be interested in.

Contact the Montana AFL-CIO and ask about their apprenticeship programs.
