Bobby Dalbec, a junior on the University of Arizona Wildcats baseball team, was drafted by the Boston Red Sox today in the 4th round of the MLB draft. Bobby was selected 118th out of 1200 in the MLB draft. Bobby plays 3rd base and pitches for the Wildcats.

Bobby graduated from Legend High School in Parker, Colorado, and is the son of Tim and Liz Dalbec of Parker and the grandson of Joe and Jeri Dalbec of Miles City.

Congratulations to Bobby and all of the Dalbec family!

The Wildcats play Mississippi State today at 4:00pm MDT in the NCAA Super Regionals tournament in Starkville, MS. The Wildcats are the last PAC 12 team remaining in the NCAA tournament. Good luck to the Wildcats!

It only could be better if he had been drafted by the Yankees. A-Rod is about done and they could sure use pitching..

While on the subject of baseball and the Red Sox. Who was the only man to pinch hit for Ted Williams? He was my old high school adversary. In the day of Google and smart phone He is easy to find now but not for years.

Yankees picked up a great young LHP from Miles City in 2012 named Caleb Frare straight out of CCDHS. After being injured for 2013 and 2014. Caleb Frare is still thriving in the Yankees organization.

Thanks for the kind words. It is great for Bobby. Lots of years of hard work. We are very proud of him. We like to keep an eye on Caleb as well. He and Bobby met at a Showcase in Florida when in High School. Just tonight on the news, we saw where Nick Senzel will be playing for the Mustangs in Billings this Summer. He and Bobby were teammates when playing for the Orleans Firebirds Summer League at Cape Cod. Now...on to Omaha first. Pretty exciting....and, nerve wracking. Again, thank you.
