This is my first major weather event here in Miles City. For a low lying river town, I think Miles City faired pretty well from the flooding I have seen.
I have witnessed two other major flooding event in my life. both while i lived in western Pennsylvania. The last one was in DuBois, PA.
http://www.wtae.com/news/...y/20741816The first was in my hometown of Brookville, PA. All I can find is a video from it that shows a good deal of the flooding after the water receeded 5 or 6 feet. Brookville has an Army Corps of Engineering flood control project similiar to Miles City's and they were built around the same time. Brookville's is still considered an adequate flood control system. There are no roads on top of the dikes and the borough mows it once a year and cleans the creek bed every five years or so.
