What would you change?

So if there was one thing you could change about Miles City what would it be? What would like to add to Miles City?

I would change the rail road crossing going to and from Spotted Eagle.

I would like to see a indoor swimming pool along with a exercise room, and a indoor shooting range.

A federally approved levee. A #1 on my list.

I am with Amorette on this. So many other things would be simplified and doable if the entire town was out of the flood zone. Plenty of room for housing and industry within the current town boundries, and simpler building requirements and lower cost for housing.

Amorette is right, That levee would open this town back up to building and improvements.

1. Levee

2. Improved Water and Sewer - expansion

3. Manufacturing/Technology Business employing several thousand people. Could be More medium sized companies, but enough to spur a some population growth. 15,000 - 20,00 population.

4. More land developed into Housing Complexes, and a Couple nice Mobile Home parks.

5. Addition to the food establishments with population growth. Kentucky Fried Chicken or similar, CiCi Pizza, Golden Corral, Mongolian Grille ...

6. Businesses - Menards/Lowes/Home Depot, Best Buy, A good shoe store,

7. YMCA/YWCA and a Boys and Girls Club of America, Nice indoor Pool, and Gaming/Tv Room for the kids, Multi Plex theater.

8. Bus System or Van route, (affordable), including Door to Door if needed with transportation to Billings Medical, Dental, Eye. ( Not saying that we don't have decent options, but some things have to be done in Billings.

9. Veterinarian Hospital and No kill Shelter for pets.

10. More Cable and Internet options. Faster Speeds, less Caps, Competitive pricing. Wireless towers so Wifi is more than a hot spot.

That is a few things I would like to see. And before I get bashed about then move somewhere else, I have been other places. I do not want to live there, but I would like some of the amenities of the larger cities.

We can't afford the amenities of larger cities. Larger cities can. That's why they have the amenities we don't.

And Golden Corral. . .no words. Just, no words. Except maybe salmonella.

Has FEMA notified the City of Miles City in writing that if it constructs a new KLJ-engineered levee that a revised map will exempt Miles City properties from flood insurance mandates?

I've read opinions here and in the Star assuring us that such is the case but no one has substantiated them with a document. When the levee fails, as those in Missouri just have, will Miles City property owners be eligible for disaster assistance?

Kyle Busch is as NASCAR red-neck as one can get and I assure you he doesn't eat at Golden Corral.

I think I heard the one in Gillette closed. If it can't make it in coal-roller truckville there is no way in hell it would work in Miles City.

Kyle Bush does it at Golden Corral. thats where I met him. One would think if they put a Corral out where the new truck stop is being built it would have a good chance of surviving. Some talked about the food poisoning in regards to having a Corral, well you can get food poisoning by eating at any of our local eating establishments. Anyways I also find the flood zone topic very interesting as well.
